    S04.E05: Breaking Glass

I actually thought the photograph of Neal & Emma together at the end could/WOULD HAVE BEEN poignant & sweet if it not been for all of the earlier Neal references.. Naming the baby Neal.. just .. what the hell were they thinking? I don't think anyone in Snow/Charming's position, and in their right mind would have done that. The name 'Neal' should have been reserved for if & when Gold/Belle had children (still a bit icky, but understandable) or if Emma had decided to name a child Neal. Neal was next to nothing to Snow & Charming .. he abandoned their daughter in a horrible way.. I can't imagine good & loving people, parents, easily getting over that to the point of naming their child after him.. that was just icky bizarre weird.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to tune back in this year and I regret having watched this weeks episode. It was like watching Sansa (A Game of Thrones reference-a captive and abused unwilling fiance) beg for Joffrey's (a sick and evil murderous tyrant) love and foregiveness *ick* . Not even as horrid as GoT can be.. would it do this. This was sick. Disturbing. Uncomfortable. And not in a good way. Definitely not a healthy portrayal of women. And enough with the Neal references already. Geez. It's like being hit over the head again, and again, and again. There are better ways to spend my time.

Small Talk: a.k.a. 'The Meet Market'

I have read that the Japanese, who idolize Paris/Parisian culture, sometimes suffer a great shock when visiting (modern) Paris, and the shock is so great from what their expectations were, they are hospitalized. It's called the Paris Syndrome. I guess there is a similar Jerusalem Syndrome, but that does not apply to the Japanese specifically.

KAOSAgent.. I do not envy you. Our winters are long enough. We've had the occasional heavy frosts well into June, but I don't think that will be this year, thankfully. Our 10 day forecast is upper 60's to mid 70's for highs.. and I don't think there will be much in the way of humidity. The bike/gate scenario sounds funny. :) Cindy, I'm glad your son was able to attend his Prom/graduation events. It's a right of passage event that won't come along again, although, as with all of us throughout life, sometimes really tough choices have to be made. I'm glad he didn't have to make one this week. The highs & lows have got to be tough enough to deal with. erm.. now I can't recall what else I was going to reply to.. but hello to anyone new and yes, I miss the routine of bringing up the TWoP page after booting up my computer... sigh.

Awww.. those are both beautifully written. The Eulogy was just lovely.. but the first piece was wonderfully thought provoking and introspective.

Oh Cindy.. what a time of woe you have been having. I recall you praising your wonderful mother-in-law and I am sincerly sorry for the loss of this wonderful person in your life and the lives of your husband & family. When someone has lost somone so wonderful & dear, I cannot help but think how fortunate they were to have had such a person in their lives. While that person has moved on.. to our loss & pain, it is a sorrow that is in measure to the greatness of the gift that was their life, and our relationship with them. That can never be taken away. Between your son's accident, TWoP/job, and now this, I think you have had your fill for quite some time and hopefully good things are ahead. Thanks for everything regularlyleaded you're a peach.

Happily Ever After: Relationships Are Hard

I don't have a problem with Snowing as a pair, per se, I have a problem that Snow. She still seems more like Mary Margaret than she seems like Snow. Charming seems to have found himself.. but I really don't like Mary Margaret as much as I liked Snow.

Alice remained clever and sharp witted with a clear purpose. Snow, it seems, was made dumb (to make the villains look 'better/more evil/more clever??') and she's never regained that season 1 wisdom, warmth, & charm. Of course, we only had Alice for one season, so who knows what she would have been like after 3 seasons.
