  1. Just a quick post to find out how many of you are on board to join the thousands of fans who want to see this wonderful and relevant show, Person of Interest, which is the most original concept that has even been done on TV continue on from Season 5. 13 episodes are not enough to tell the rest of this story. If you haven't seen Season 4, then I will not spoil it, but so many cans of worms were opened up in this season that will take at least another 44 episodes to unwravel and wrap up. So I am interested to see how many fans here want to get on board. More to follow on what we can do to convince another network to pick up this show. CBS clearly are not interested, look what happened last year to the Mentalist. POI looks like going the same route and CBS have no idea how valuable POI is and what they MIGHT be throwing away. I really hope that you will join us to fight the good fight. Cheers, Jel (DramaQueen) PS I am not really a drama queen, just when it comes to TV shows that I love.
  2. Sorry about that people; It must have seemed as though I was referring to CBS in the past tense. What I mean is what they are planning to do the show. As for whether it should have been moved to Tuesdays at 10pm, the ratings numbers reflect that POI started losing viewers right around when they moved it and I also feel that the lack of promotion has hurt this show. If it were own by CBS, then I really think it would have been renewed like other shows were that had a lower audience. I guess a reacted with shock based on what I feel about the show and I did not know at first that it was owned by WB. I really hope we get some answers as to what the creators have up their sleeve, given that Nolan said recently that he did not see Season 5 as POI's last.
  3. Kahuna, I totally agree with you there. When I heard there was even doubt about renewing Person Of Interest, I was stunned. Then to learn it is not even on the fall schedule and possibly being cut down to 13 eps and it's likely to be the last, I felt like I had been hit with a Mack truck. Besides Grey's Anatomy which I watch more out of habit. Person of Interest would be amongst one of the best shows I have ever watched. I know WB owns the show, but why would you deliberately set out to rid yourself of a totally unique TV show, POI is an original concept, and it is relevant in today's society. This show is well written, well acted and directed, it is in my opinion a masterpiece and I seriously doubt I will ever see anything as wonderful as POI again. I am furious, I really wanted to see where Nolan and Plageman planned to take this story, I read recently that they were hoping for at least six seasons, maybe seven, but no more than that. I feel cheated that I will not get to see what these two talented guys had planned for Reese and Finch. I also feel that this is unfair to the creators, actors and everyone who has work so hard to bring this awesome show to the fans. It is also unfair to the fans. I live in Australia, and it is shown here, so it make no difference to me where it ends up, I will find it somehow eventually. I am praying that Nolan and Co are trying to secure a better deal for this show. I am absolutely stunned that this network would ruin the best show on TV in a long while. Once I am done with the Good Wife, which CBS are also trying to destroy (that's what I heard recently). I doubt that I will follow any shows that are on this network. As it is I do not watch network TV in Australia because all we get at prime time is reality crap shows. Person of Interest was shown at 11pm, when it returned here the other night, way to go, stick it in a crappy timeslot so it's ratings end up in toilet. Why do the Nine Network pay for these excellent shows and then do things that tank them? I am so tempted to quit POI right now, as I am sure that they cannot wrap all the loose ends in 13 episodes. If they had left well enough alone and not moved it from Thursday 9pm to Tuesday at 10pm it would still be rating well. I know they want their own content in the plum prime time spot, but it just does not make sense to trash a quality shows like POI in order to get higher ratings for Elementary, which is not an original concept by any stretch. I've watched it once, and as much as love Lucy Lui, it is not enough to get me to stick with Elementary. To be honest I am now hoping one of their new shows tanks badly so they have no option but to bring POI back in November. Or alternatively find POI a network that will respect this quality, awesome show and give it the royal treatment.
  4. Well it is mid July, I am hoping we get some news soon about casting and perhaps a few spoilers as they will be filming the first few episodes pretty soon. Actually I would think all the cast and crew would be back by now. I might start trolling Twitter and Facebook for some news tomorrow. Grey's Anatomy starts filming on the 25 July 2014 http://www.wetpaint.com/greys-anatomy/articles/2014-07-09-season-11-filming-july-25
  5. I want to see lots of Meredith and Alex, I think if Shonda focuses on Mer and Alex being the central part of the show, this show will survive. I do think with the loss of Cristina that it may affect GA in the ratings big time. I am not a fan of Jo, but I love Alex. I am hoping that the writers will make me like her more or pair him with Amelia Shepherd. I am interested to see how Richard deals with finding out he has a daughter from his affair with Ellis Grey. I am not a fan of Japril, but I do like Callie and Arizona as individual characters, I am not sure if they make a convincing couple. I just really hope that I can watch despite loss of Cristina, I am very worried that not having the kick ass Dr Yang will make the show boring for me. But I love Meredith just as much and if her storylines are good then I think that's all I can ask for.
  6. Can someone tell me what YMMV means? Thanks in advance
  7. MrsRafaelBarba - I totally agree with this, I am so sick of Shonda portraying Olivia as a victim. I really want to see the kick ass fixer back in business and I do think the idea of her running for office, perhaps Congress is a great idea. Given all the files David was sent, I think that B613 will be in business next season as Eli said that the POTUS reinstated him. I do agree with someone up-thread who believes that Olivia's parents are in on this together. Frankly I could do without them next season too, or push them more into the back ground and focus on the political and OPA. I think Harrison's death will bring Liv back as it will not take Huck long to figure it out. I definitely believe he's dead and was sure of this at the end of the Season finale. I read somewhere that Shonda did not want to renew his contract due to his legal issues; I think he was accused of beating someone up or something like that. I also don't think we will see Fitz and Liv together and I like this, I would much rather see her with Jake (so long as Jake is not a bad guy and did not go off with her on her father's orders) who seems like a good guy, but could be Liv's worst nightmare if he turns out to be working for her Mom or her Dad or both. My feeling is that he is good deep down even though he has done bad things in the name of protecting the republic, David believes that he is a good guy and David watched him kill three people. What worries me with this show is it kind getting a bit like a night time soap, not to the extent that Grey's is, but it's headed that way. Shonda really does not like her shows to be referred to as soaps or guilty pleasures, as I call them sometimes. I am also calling it now: I think something bad is going to happen to Huck's family if he does not arrange for them to get out of Washington ASAP. I also think that Huck, Olivia and Abby will forgive Quinn. Quinn might even work as a double agent in the end for Liv as we all know she will find out what her father did to Gerry and all of his other awful sins. Charlie is the hardest one to figure out, he will probably go back to Rowan, but he could make up with Huck and join them, who knows with that guy.
  8. Probably Grey's Anatomy when they drowned Meredith and she has no heartbeat for two hours or whatever, and apparently because of her body temp they were able to bring her back to life. I am not a doctor, but I believe when you drown you would have water in your lungs and that 's what kills you. Anyway. I still liked the show after that, and I did not really get upset about it, it's TV after all, but when they brought back Dead Denny, a character who had died of a stroke three seasons prior and Izzie was having sex with this ghost or hallucination or whatever he was supposed to be. I kept watching the show and I still watch today, however it has never been the same for me after that. DQ
  9. I wrote in a previous thread that she tends to write soapy, dramedy or drama and her shows are referred to as night-time soaps, however she hates this and believes her shows are as great as Person of Interest or The Good Wife (which I have not watched, but have heard great things about) She got really upset when fans referred to Scandal and Grey's Anatomy as their guilty pleasure. She equates that as someone saying her show is a load of crap, and believes these people should not watch if they think that. I get the feeling she does not like people saying that because it implies that her shows are night time soaps and not quality night time drama which is what she believes they are. She has writers on Grey's and has not written an episode of Grey's for two seasons now and a lot of the writing still sucks in my opinion, however, her writers recently closed off a main character's story really well when Sandra Oh left, so perhaps there is hope. I also have noticed that the quality of writing diminishes the longer her shows go on. Scandal was really good for most of Season one and two and I would not have called it a soap, however season three is another issue altogether. The writing was not as good. Grey's was the same, I found Season 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (without Dead Denny) to be excellent and then for some reason the writing went downhill. Shonda Rhimes is talented and it shows with most of the Grey's Anatomy episodes she has written. I really feel that it depends just how much creative control she has over the show and it may come down to how much the network interfere with the creative process. I am not sure how this sort of thing works, but in season 8 of Grey's Anatomy contract negotiations dictated story arcs and to me as a long time viewer, this was unacceptable and totally not Shonda's fault. When Private Practice ended, Shonda also did a great job of writing the final season and the final episode. There were not disasters, everyone survived the series finale, which I was relieved about. I guess we will just have to wait and see what this show is like. I am looking forward to having yet another show to watch and there's one thing I cannot deny, Shonda Rhimes knows how to keep you interested. It is always a matter of taste for everyone and what kind of telly you are looking to watch. I tend to watch TV to relax and escape from reality and Shonda's shows, particuarly Grey's Anatomy are really good shows to watch when you are winding down. I will definitely be giving this one a go.
  10. Just the title of this series had me intrigued and the lead actress as I know I have seen her before. I also watch Scandal and after seeing what Shonda Rhimes gets up to on that show, I don't think that much will shock me. I am wondering too about the show's ability to last given the whole "these people could go to jail" premise, how long would it be before that got old, but if it is written well and the stories have a back story to them, kind of like Person of Interest, this could be pretty good. Anyway time will tell.
  11. I can so believe that Shonda Rhimes would come up with a series like this and think it's going to be fabulous TV drama and not another soap, dramedy that makes no sense, and where the fans don't ever get pay off. If you have not watched Grey's Anatomy or Scandal then perhaps you are not aware of the mess that Rhimes creates with her shows. However, there is somebody else doing the writing here so I will reserve my judgement until season 1 is over, at least. Viola Davis is familiar to me, I am from Australia and cannot picture what I have seen her in, but from what I remember she is a very talented actress. If you have ever watched Scandal, then you will have some idea of what is in store on this show, as it would seem that every character on Scandal has gotten away with murder. My guess is this series will not have characters that are seen as good people, and might do bad things for the greater good. I recently bought the first season of Dexter for this reason and I must get around to watching it. Anyway I hope to get to know lots of TV people here as I love my telly. I came over from TWOP and used to post there as Whitney Rose. I would love it if someone could refresh my memory re Viola Davis.
  12. I have always wanted to watch the West Wing. As far as I can remember it was never on Australian TV, unless it was on really late and I did not know. What year did it start and finish. I have heard this show has some of the best writing on a TV Drama. Given that I have become totally disillusioned with Grey's Anatomy for years now and Scandal is starting to play out like another one of Shonda Rhime's soap operas, I am looking for quality drama to watch and I do love a good political drama. If anyone here has the time and inclination, I would love some background on the show. The creator's name Sorkin, sounds familiar to me as well so he must have had something to do with another show that I liked I am thinking. Anyway, thanks in advance. DQ
