  1. I doubt this "revival" is different from all the previous ones that is to say, it's all just a fan friendly noise. Everyone from Firefly is always asked about it and everyone says that they'd be more than willing to do more Firefly. But it's neither here nor there, just wishful thinking. They all obviously had a great time doing Firefly/Serenity and what else can they answer when faced with this question at a fan event? Only "yes". Doesn't mean there's anything concrete to it. They even state this themselves, frequently. Media outlets though always pick it up as something newsworthy, for clicks. Sometimes it's a smaller media fish, other times bigger. Anything to rile up the nerds and get traffic. Another case of "Help Nathan buy Firefly", a joke taken out of context which produced media frenzy and a world wide coverage.
  2. I never understood this vehement reaction to Ff references among some Castle fans. Why not to TXF references that are numerous according to Bowman and crew members? But no one who doesn't know where to look for them or who's not familiar with the shows in question would even notice a thing, both with TXF and Firefly. And I can't imagine a situation when some viewer recognizes a reference and stops watching Castle just because, just out of hate for XF or Ff. Noticing it means you're a fan. If you're not, it's meaningless and just a part of the Castle plot. So this subtle meta play looks like win-win to me.
  3. When he said it he was replying to a fan question about the show becoming too dark in season 8. The fan made this conclusion from the spoilers and was asking is there going to be a lot of angst and less lightheartedness. So the answer was worded according to the question, it wasn't about how he sees the show's future or its strengths. It was meant to alleviate the fan's concerns. I saw his quote making rounds on Tumblr, without the fan question and therefore out of context, with many comments to the tune of your post. Somehow Castle fandom always tends to take NF's quotes out of context and run with it, making a big deal out of something that is usually a joke or just a part of a quote without a context.
  4. I can only answer for myself, and I wasn't trying to change your opinion. I commented only on factual things like signing at airports. You said that it was because he didn't want to sign for free when he came to a city to sign at a con for big bucks. And I pointed out that airports in certain cities on the day of a convention are a trap for celebrities which is a known fact, and that NF does sign in airports for random fans anyway. When he is not being hunted down. I think it's obvious that he is not the guy to be pushed into doing things by popular demand or stalking. Several stories prove that. But it has nothing to do with not wanting to sign for free, there are countless examples of Nathan Fillion taking pics and signing things on filming locations or on the street, like other posters already noted. So it doesn't have much to do with opinions, only facts.
  5. Airports in the cities that host conventions are known to be full of paps and autograph hunters on the days of conventions. It's the most obvious place to stalk celebs that are announced for the con, the date and the place are known and celebs have no way out. All con celebs know that they will be accosted at such airports like hardly anywhere else as it's too easy to pass up for fans and paps. So it's not because he wants to sign pics only for money, it's because he knows that he'll be hunted down for sure and he gives advance notice that he's not gonna be OK with it. And yet there are tons of pictures of him with fans, their families and kids in airports. Make your own conclusions.
  6. I agree that the Caskett point is worryingly missing from spoilers etc. I mentioned that. But the poster made a specific claim that "ABC is promoting PI stupid Castle but ignoring how Beckett is now Captain", and I don't think it's valid. What would have changed with the Caskett angle if the promo was about Beckett as the captain? And wouldn't then people ask why the promo was about Beckett? So I don't see the point. They could have avoided all that by making the promo about Caskett, but obviously they prefer hiding this part from being spoiled, so they're left with one or another option. ABC always prefers the lighthearted angle when promoting the show, and well, it's Castle after all, so they go with what they have about Castle, and it's the P.I. storyline. I have no clue about what screencaps ABC chooses for the site, I never go there. So can't weigh in on the conspiracy over there.
  7. I thought there was only one promo so far? Several seconds long of Castle as P.I. We had spoiler interviews about both Castle's and Beckett's storylines (Bracken). If there were 2-3 promos and all about Castle, then I'd see the point. But with one blink and you miss it promo it's hardly sexist or skewed. The only thing I could notice and conclude from it is that it's not Caskett. But it would have been the same conclusion if these several seconds were only about Beckett's captaincy.
  8. Hehe. I follow one such twitterer who's all about villainous Fillion and how next season is a Beckettless shit. All mentions of NF, his projects or friends are coded as "spaceshit". Everything he does or says is closely monitored and subtweeted. Writers are also hacks and spineless fools who write only what the network and Fillion dictate. But when someone positive and unsuspecting starts a convo she's all about being positive to the show and actors, and how immature teenagers spread hate in the fandom. If you only read your own feed you wouldn't know about her other opinions, you have to click on the user and read her feed just like BellyLaughter said. I keep her for entertainment, and marvel at how two-(or three, or four) faced a person can be, even though I know that it's bad for the soul.
  9. The funniest example of this attitude I saw when fans learned that Nathan Fillion took part in the Much Ado filming during the filming of Castle and also started complaining that he used his precious Castle time for another project. The funny part was that he mostly filmed on weekends, even if Castle accommodated him a little with no Fraturdays or similar things, and that it only became known after the fact anyway. Like months after it was filmed, and no one noticed his absence for the episodes in question when it was actually happening. So I thought the complaining was absurd. Next summer, when he had several projects to promote, like Monsters Uni, Much Ado and Percy Jackson there were again complaints from the Castle fandom described above, how he needs to be grateful for Castle and promote it instead of his summer projects, how he forgets Castle for the "movie career" and such. So I guess it's the usual thing. We'll hear even more of this nonsense when Stana Katic's projects start coming out all at once and she does promo for them, droves of people reminding her of her Castle roots will arrive with banners flying. If Castle is still going to be a thing at that point.
  10. They had so called flexible funding that means any amount of money they get, they keep. There are higher fees to Indiegogo with this type of funding I think. Anyone who donated was supposed to check it first, it's right there on the campaign page. As for letting people know I agree, but maybe they did that, I stopped following this story.
  11. In Assassin Banana Alan had a very minor role with a few grunts and groans. He was the Homeless Onion. I think there are better examples of his status, like A Knight's Tale or I, Robot and so on.
  12. You're lucky then. I see it all over certain tumblr and twitter circles, in tags and hashtags. But if you think that it's me who creates drama I'll edit my post. Peace comes first.
  13. He wasn't dating Perry Reeves at the time, he was dating a tall blond named Kate who was also on that video. I don't know if he and Perry ever dated and parted as friends, or have always been just friends. I've seen several pics of them at different functions starting from many years ago, seemed like just friends who went together to a party. 2 or 3 years ago she went with him to the Emmys or something else, and some fans started to call her his new GF while others said she's been dating, or even married, to someone else for years, so that died down. I'm sure there are a lot of women who fans think Nathan has been dating, based on pics and videos from parties, while many of them were just friends. He doesn't seem to like going alone to red carpets, premiers and parties, and he has many female friends both unknown and somewhat well-known, so it seems like the easiest way.
  14. Somehow after every Stana interview I see comments about how there should be fewer Nathan interviews. Is this an either or deal? I'm sure if Stana went to night talk shows she would have to tell funny stories too, not talk about her acting goals or career intricacies.
