  1. The thing that came to my mind is "Are the guys truly that much better than the girls?" I thought all the guys outperformed their partners, except Eddie. -Eddie/Sophie had the performance I least enjoyed. I really don't think Brian's routine really defines Eddie as a poor dancer because you should be a good jazz dancer to make Brian routines pop. Unfortunately, Eddie doesn't have those skills and he really kind of brought Sophie's performance down as well. Luck of the draw (manipulations?). He probably would've been fine in the Mandy jazz. - I didn't enjoy Anna's effort either. But, she's hip hop and she wasn't awful. So I can see people giving her a pass. People are more likely to give a pass in a ballroom routine if it look like the dancer tried, especially in the beginning. Benjamin was good though considering he was also out of his element. It takes a while for the man to learn to keep the "bootay" in check. - The remaining are interchangeable. It looked like they tried to recreate DTrix/Sabra with Bailey/Mariah. Bailey came to play but he was so amped up in some parts that he made her look sluggish. I was most surprised by Ezra's performance. He saved their routine. Right now, he's the one I want to see do really well. Usually, a contemporary is my favorite routine out of the first week performances. I enjoyed Ezra/Madison but maybe that little flub took more out of the performance for me than I realize. It looks like Gino is the favorite and Stephanie is a good partner for him. This will probably be their worse routine and it wasn't bad. It just looked like they interpreted the pocket differently. It put me in the mind of the hip hop routine that Travis/Martha did. They both performed well; they did the same steps; they just didn't have the same feel. I felt the same about Gino/Stephanie. Really didn't get attached to anyone right away like I did with Darius/Magda last season or Logan/Allison in season 14. That's good in a way because I really won't care as much about the show's manipulations.
  2. Just watching to see how many times Joe can work Bill Clinton’s name in with the Epstein mess.
  3. He was just going for "cute" with that. Those two (Kraft & Epstein) have had really visible negative things. He just wanted to link Trump with them because evidently he's going rough on Trump today. Later on this week, he'll be all over the "Dems". Didn't they try to bring Trump into the "Madam" mess with Kraft?
  4. I THINK Joe was talking about when Trump went to Mara Laga after the tax cuts. Trump let all his rich friends know that he had made them a lot of money that day.
  5. If Mueller was in a flux about the President's collusion with Russia, why didn't he have a face-to-face with Trump? To me, his job was to come to a nonpartisan decision about the administration's involvement with Russia. He's only deepened the divide of the partisans.
  6. Exactly. Never understood this romanticizing of Reagan. Now they want to give Bill Clinton’s accomplishments to Bush41. Then, I guess we should also give credit for the economic mess that Bush41 had to Reagan? We should give credit to Clinton for Bush43s economy before he messed it up. We should give credit to Bush43 for the beginning mess that Obama had. And, we should give credit for Trump’s economy to Obama. Republicans should learn that they can’t pick a scenario only when it benefits them. It’s not what POTUS inherited but what he passed along. Reagan and Bush43 passed along messes. Bush41 didn’t have time to fully correct Reagan’s mess. So he passed it along. Clinton and Obama passed along positive economies. And if Congress don’t rein in Trump, he’s going to pass along a mess too.
  7. I consider the people you named as having an aptitude. They had the natural ability or aptitude for dance. I don’t see Bobby as having either—natural ability or experience. It took almost 15 years before we got a winner like that but I guess it should be no surprise. People vote for various reasons. It just took almost 15 years before we (as the total) decided that “dance” was not important for a winner.
  8. Isn't this the first time that there was a winner with no dance aptitude/experience? I think that's why people are still replying. It's hard to believe that there were that many people who supported him. I guess we feel if we keep replying, we'll come back to reality where Bobby really didn't win :)
  9. I didn't really mean 100% but you are correct. But I really don't think that many of his supporters swallowed his story about working endless hours rehearsing. I think "Nashville" had more of an affect on who they would support.
  10. Wish Bobby hadn’t won but really not surprised. He is identified with country music. Don’t “country music” celebs always end up going further than their dance abilities? This is just the first time one of the “dance challenged” country celebs actually won. Country music fans are staunch supporters and they are avid DWTS viewers. Bobby’s brashness and insensitivity just endear him more to this group. They know other people didn’t like Bobby. That just made them double down and support him more. Kinda like sticking it to those they have deemed non-country/rural.
  11. I really have a different word for it. Why are TV producers still harping on this Monica-thing? I don't feel sorry for her. Most interns come from money or connections. So, I don't believe she wanted to kill herself. Or, she was flipped before this occurred. I don't believe she was misused. She didn't act like a virgin so she knew what she was doing. Didn't she and her friend preserve the dress? Cunning!! I don't think Bill Clinton should go around groveling so that the women TV analysts can have something else to talk about. Mika should be happy with Al Franken leaving. She should just cry over Trump's transgressions. He's the one who is affecting people's lives.
  12. No doubt this was true. It sounds like he idolized Reagan who pushed "trickle down" (which never happened). He was probably one of the republicans who didn't support Daddy Bush who had to raise taxes because the Reagan years had left us in such an economic state.
  13. The studio audience, judges and hosts normally act stunned and regretful when one of the best celebs is voted off. This isn't a first and probably won't be the last. I doubt if Cheryl or JP did anything except to make the viewers think that they are so good that there's no need to vote for them. I think voter-complacency doomed them.
  14. I agree with Joe about the deficit and the tax breaks. Obviously the other republicans aren’t thinking like him. Why else would you give a tax break when the economy is strong? Then throw out hints about the out-of-hand social programs? Besides wasn’t it Cheney who said if we learned anything from the Reagan years, it’s that deficits don’t matter? Was a little surprised that Joe didn’t give Reagan credit for the current ballooning deficit. But then he would’ve had to give Clinton the opposite credit. He even worked Obama into the picture even though he inherited the worse economic disaster.
  15. Well I had milo and JP as my final 2. Not bad but I do prefer JP. After so many seasons, I’m not surprised that Bobby made it. You had to figure someone undeserving would get there. Gotta bow down to showmance. Congrats Alexis. For me, milo and evanna made the finals the right way—good routines for good judges scores plus pleasing personalities for viewer votes. Either is deserving but I have to go with Evanna because Whitney has already won. Plus I enjoyed their contemporary routine. JPs AT was my favorite. He must’ve had a lot of training. He was too good.
  16. Democrats will not be over redistricting? America voted for republicans at that level as well. Why would they change things? They'll never win anything. They need gerrymandering and the electoral college. Wish they'd stop talking about Trump not talking about the economy. Most sane people know Trump is riding on Obama's coattails. Obama was on "Ws" coattails after his first two years. Thus, Obama got shellac as Joe put it. And, people evidently looked the other way on Trump's transgressions because he's really on Obama's. It takes a while to turn an economy where the citizens can feel it. Trump knows his supporters. Just like Eddie said, they're selfish, racist or greedy. We just didn't know there were that many people in America like that. Obviously, we only care about fairness, decency, righteousness, etc when it applies to women or POC. How else can you explain people voting for white men under indictment (Hunter and Collins)?
  17. I've always been amazed by how much the GOP (and some democrats) worship Reagan. They've been rewriting/cherry picking his history since he left.
  18. I’m sure Mark wanted to win more; not just because Derek won so many times but because he probably felt he had celebs who had performed the best. I’ve always preferred Mark’s dancing over Derek’s and I prefer Mark’s choreography as well. But Derek is better for DWTS. The main thing he has over Mark is height which makes him look better on TV with the celebs and extensions. Derek was the only blonde male pro. Everyone loved his sister when she was a pro and it naturally filtered to him. Derek presented his celeb better, both dance wise and personality wise. So I can see why he won so many times.
  19. Really hadn't thought about this. They really should target ole Mitch. What normal thinking person wouldn't be disgusted by him? But the democrats suck at disparaging people. And they don't have the will to stay with negativity long enough to matter. Even the ministers of the right stick with their negative actions.
  20. People act like Monica L. was a virgin/naive little girl when she stalked Clinton. She knew to keep the dress wrapped up. That's conniving. Yes Clinton should've left her alone but Monica knew what she was doing. So I don't believe it was sexual harassment. People forget that women have always used what they have on men in higher positions to better themselves.
  21. I think she might've lasted a couple more weeks but she wouldn't have made the finals. I felt like one of the young good dancers would be voted off. I was just hoping against hope that it wouldn't be Tinashe. But she was doomed. There were too many things for the dwts-supporter to use to not vote for her; including the new pro who is also black. The main thing for a young, experienced, black female is to have a decent fanbase before entering because it's tough for her to garner support once she's on the show. In that way, they MAY make the finals. DWTS voters don't give the black female any slack. The personality/attitude is warped/trashed. They get punished for their dancing ability when other gender/races are accepted for theirs. They nitpick the chemistry/relationship with their pro, etc. I don't think the voters are racist. They just prefer supporting people they wouldn't mind having in their circle. I know Amber won but she had the Glee-fame and Derek. She also fit the stereotype that people like to use for black women. She also fit the chubby friend role.
  22. I think Annalise s/b wary of Tegan. Her outburst to Michaela showed her feelings about Analise.
  23. The republicans don't care about what they said. Their supporters can be easily manipulated. They are just responding to reporters. In that way, the reporters will have to move on or risk being seen as "too liberal".
  24. This season is worse than S24 (or whatever season that had Nancy K. on it). So it won't be long before a surprise boot. They can't keep all the good dancers. I really only think Joe is a bad dancer. Nikki wasn't a bad dancer but someone had to be first. Danelle wasn't a bad dancer. She was just unsure but who can blame her. Bobby has worn me out already. So I hope he goes soon. Nancy and John aren't bad but this season has so many good dancers/performers. So hope they go soon as well. Of course, it won't be this way because someone always out stays their welcome. Of the other seven, Mary Lou has gotten better with each dance. But I've always hated her smile (yep, I went there, gotta use something to weed out). I've enjoyed DeMarcus so far but Lindsey just won not long ago (again, gotta use something). Evanna is dancing her little heart out but she pales to Alexis and Tinashe. Leaving my "hope for" top 4 of Tinashe, Alexis, Milo and Juan. I'm sure they've all had dance/performing training but they are my favorites. I would like for Tinashe to win but she doesn't fit the DWTS-type. So I just hope she lasts until the finals. Brandon has done a good job with her so far. I know Alexis said she had millions of followers but that usually doesn't translate to DWTS votes. But Alan seems to be enjoying himself. Hopefully, they will last as well. Milo is the season-surprise for me. He would be my pick but the height issue takes away from the performance, for me. That leaves Juan. Really don't know what kind of fan base that he has but he and Cheryl have been great. If I had to pick a surprise boot, it would be Alexis or Milo.
