  1. Just to be clear...unassisted home births are legal in all 50 states. There is zero legal requirement for any attendant, licensed or unlicensed. Nebraska has a minor quirk where the law doesn't allow the father to catch the baby unless it is an emergency. In my mind, it would be easy to say, "oops, the baby was delivered at home before we could make it out the door". I fall firmly into the camp that there is nothing wrong with unattended home deliveries as long as the mother has adequate medical care during the pregnancy and no high risk conditions are known. It is a choice, and any of us has the right to refuse medical care.
  2. I did something similar in high school, at a private school intended to prepare you for college. We had classes on Tue/Thu, some electives on Wed, and did lots of outside work that our parents were supposed to help us with. The school was full of fundamental, conservative Christians who homeschooled but also wanted their kids to have teachers for higher math classes and science, and a group environment for things like music and drama. For JoshAnna I wonder if something like K-12 or one of the other online virtual schools would be a good choice. Would provide some structure, a teacher, and would reduce Anna's workload. Still wouldn't be my first choice for Mac, but would be better than what I've seen of the Duggar's homeschooling.
  3. I hope the flight attendant was fired. I work for the same airline, I could immediately tell by the uniform and the peanut packets. She violated several company policies. The first was appearing on television in uniform without company approval, which I doubt they would give for this show. The second was taking meals off the aircraft. That's not allowed because even though the leftovers are disposed of, they don't want crewmembers holding meals back from passengers. The paper pillowcases I could maybe see being ok, but the pillows and blankets should stay onboard to be reused. Taking the mixed nuts home is just gross.
  4. Actually seems like the title refers to Kelley.
  5. Early childhood and currently live in Oklahoma. Most people that live here consider it to be the South. Tulsa tends to be more Midwest/Plains, while Oklahoma City and the rural areas tend to be more Southern in culture. I think culturally the entire state is very similar to Texas, although many people from here would never admit that.
  6. I thought the chicken and waffles was awesome. If I was paying $140k plus tip, I better be able to have food I'll enjoy. I'm willing to be adventurous and let Ben cook what he wants for the most part, but breakfast better be traditional and tasty. I'm joining others in the ride to Hades because I Googled Kelley's pics. Damn dude. I could get with that, until he started crying, then I'd give him back to Amy to deal with. Speaking of Amy, she really is the best stew on the boat. She knows the "service with a smile" saying for sure. I worked as a flight attendant, and Amy is the only one out of the three that I would want to serve passengers with. Sure, everyone makes fun of customers, it's part of the job and how you deal with it, but Kate and Kat don't even do the job before they start in. Also, FWIW, my sister and I look nothing alike. I favor my dad, she favors my mom. I've got blue eyes, her's are brown. In public people often think we're a couple, especially when my niece and nephew are with us. On the accent, we lived in the south until I was six and then moved to the west coast . My sister is four years younger than me. My southern accent is much more pronounced.
  7. I assumed that was because Amy was the big sister. However, I can see there being much more to the divorce and I wonder if Amy bolted from home when she was 18 and left Kelley there.
  8. I'm in the aviation industry so I understand rest & duty time issues, we deal with them everyday. Anytime there is a flight delay, the first thing we tell the gate agent is our absolute latest departure time. In this case I was a bit confused though. I couldn't figure out if Ben's four course tapas menu delayed dinner so long that Kat ran out of duty time and had to go on rest or if Kate's bad planning resulted in someone being required to rest during dinner service. Then Ben's comment about maritime law not applying to them was thrown in there too. Do the stews have to have STCW's like the deckhands? Are they crewmembers like the deckhands? I know in the aviation industry you can have cabin servers who are not trained as flight attendants and are manifested as passengers instead of crew. In either case the whole thing was really weird with Kate refusing to even engage with Ben on the topic and nothing clearly laid out.
  9. Kate's apology to the primary guest was horrible. She should've just been an adult and said "I'm sorry" and not tried to explain it away as some sort of misunderstanding about the banter between guest and crew. Bitchy resting face is also a horrible excuse for someone who is in a customer facing job. Learn to smile and look pleasant, it is part of your job. The deckhands do seem to sit around the crew mess a lot of the time. I'm sure they work hard, but I bet their schedules are just different from the stews. I'm a flight attendant and we have the same issue with pilots, our busy times are just very different. They bug us when we're trying to serve passengers. Eddie is awesome, jumping right in and helping make pizza. He's got a really amazing attitude. The kiss was just stupid. Are Kelley and Jennice in jr. high? A run by kissing?
  10. I agree, this was probably completely producer driven. They probably noticed that the charter guest was such a stickler for timing and decided to mess with him a bit to create some drama. FWIW, we did see the stews serving random pieces of bread, but you would think they would be down there in the galley heating up appetizers, making salads or something. Heck, you could've created even more drama right there by having them in Ben's kitchen trying to keep the guests happy while they waited forever.
  11. WRT late dinner. I vaguely remember Ben being late with dinner once during S1 too. Something along the lines of can't rush art, but I don't fully remember the details. From what I do remember though it was a sudden change of plans and not exactly like this guest's "dinner will be served promptly at 8:30" expectation. Also, I would be starving by 8:30, much less 10:30. If I was a guest, not even the primary, I would probably be down in the galley trying to find something, anything to eat. I thought it was really shitty how the crew treated Andrew though. They all talked really bad about him behind his back and then pretended to be sad to see him go. I get he lied, but I also get this is a reality show and he was likely chosen by the producers for his lack of experience. One other thing that's been bugging me. Kelly is supposed to be an engineer not a deckhand, at least according to the credits. I'm not sure we've seen him do anything engineering related.
