I think the baby is in no danger. Schenck and Cardea have been on NCIS.  I know Kelly Gibbs was killed in childhood, but that never happened in "show time." That was always handled in flashback as part of Gibbs' origin story.  Delilah is pregnant in real "show time" (as far as viewers are concerned.)  I have to believe that S&C would know that harming (or killing) McGee and Delilah's baby would not go over well.

Do I believe that there will be some drama during Delilah's pregnancy?  Absolutely!  However, I also believe that there will be a living baby.  My gut says it will be a boy since Victoria and Tali are girls.

I hope you are right about the baby. The timing works as the hiatus would cover most of the pregnancy. We know that a show can handle it.  Just look how well Brennan + Booth (Bones) did with two young ones. I will always give Emily Deschanel a lot of credit coming back after two babies to finish the series.

I liked Alex.   However, I think we have to remember that Gary Glasberg has died.  Alex was a creation of Gary's, and I think it's reasonable to assume that Schenk (sp) and Cardera spent all of last season a) absorbing the shock of Gary's death and b) getting their feet under them as showrunners.  I know they've been with the show for quite some time, but they've never "ran the show" so to speak.  It's reasonable to me to assume that we'd see creative decisions being made during the summer hiatus when they actually have time to think about what THEY want for NCIS (as opposed to what Gary had planned.)

I've read speculation on other websites that this is an indication of something negative in terms of Jennifer's relationship with the show.  I don't think that's necessarily the case.  It could be, but we have no confirmation of that.  It could also be that S&C wanted to do something different.

I enjoyed Jennifer (Jackie Curatola) on Blue Bloods because she worked well with her partner Danny Reagan. In a final scene, Jackie tells Danny that she was quitting as a detective for some odd reason which made no sense at all. Jennifer's abrupt end as a regular now seems much the same as what happened to her on Blue Bloods. Her scenes with Gibbs were always done well, but with so many agents on the team, much of her effort becomes 'out of sight, out of mind'.  I believe that MI6 agent Reeves was brought on by Gary to replicate Ziva's role, but he seems out of place unless he is working with Abby.

@Ohmo, both Schenck and Cardea have been with the show since day one. And because of that, come next season, I have high expectations because they better not retcon stuff or have characters say or do stuff that didn't happen.

I hope the baby event is not a cruel tease for viewers. It will be hard taking care of a baby while confined to a wheelchair and continue working as a government analyst. The wedding was on the timetable for the season, but I still wonder about the baby. You would hope the decision was well thought out. The Alex character had good chemistry with Gibbs given her background as agent trainer. I think there are just too many agents working single cases. The writers must like Torres as a comedic replacement for MW, but it is not working. IMO.

Can't say I'm sad to see her go, but I hope it was the actress' choice.

I wonder what the "new creative direction" is that the article mentions.

"Alex" wasn't able to sustain that usual comedic slant maintained by the other agents no matter how hard the case. IMO. At times, too many agents are working one case. She worked well with Gibbs, but not so much chemistry with the others.   Does this change mean the Delilah character becomes a regular? Delilah has good chemistry with the team which would make it easier to do crossover stories with the DoD.  Those kind of cases would allow the newly married couple to maintain a home life story with a baby. In a recent interview, there was some tease put forth by the show runner about upcoming tension among the team in the new season.

I am confused...I swear an earlier episode had Red rescuing Liz from the fire and taking her to live with Sam? Now it has changed and Mr. Kaplan did?

Katarina went back to the apartment and told Kate that Red had taken Masha. Red did tell Liz about the fire in an earlier episode. What was never explained is how Katarina found the house where Masha was being kept in the US.

  8. Current sweeps episodes with top writers: Matt Ward, David Grae not much help with the declining viewer numbers. David Grae effort closing out the doomsday cult threat was his poorest of the series. IMO. The 'Murphy Station' ensemble is a better fit for Henry's role in intelligence. The outcome from the bio-weapon arc was too predictable.

Well, there was an award show going on and some people also didn't seem to know that there was another episode. I don't know what it is with this show but this is the second season that I've seen comments that people thought there were only 22 episodes. And not just casual viewers who tune in to be entertained, but the viewers who follow the actors on twitter and stuff like that. Weird.

Award show issue is a weak argument. IMO. The last few episodes during sweeps with top writers: Matt Ward, David Grae, Barbara Hall not much help with the rating numbers.   David Grae effort closing out the Henry bombing arc was his poorest of the series. NCIS-LA 8PM holds steady whether there persists some seasonal sport overrun or competing against some kind of award show.   CBS moving MS to 10PM Sunday next year will risk ratings sinking further by competing with local and network news.  Unfortunate because the cast includes so many great stage actors.

    4-30 MS (9PM)  0.7    7.88       NCIS-LA (8PM)   1.0      9.08

    5-7   MS            0.7    7.58       NCIS-LA              1.0      9.06

    5-14 MS            0.7    7.83       NCIS-LA (F)         1.2      9.40

Every time poor Dmitri gets pulled back in for some sort of government assist, I think to myself, "Oh man, is this the time that Henry's going to get him killed?" I find his appearances very stressful to watch. Why can't they just let the poor kid enjoy his life with his sister?

If getting involved with Stevie gets him killed, I'm going to be very pissed off.

Stevie could be in danger as well. It was strange that Henry would bring him to his home and let Stevie be able to identify him. He is a CIA asset and a spy. He gave her his false name. I am sure Elizabeth would not let this happen. The whole Dmitri/Stevie thing might just be a fake out for next season. The season finale tied its low series rating in both the demo (0.7) and LIVE viewers (7.44)

Well, it shouldn't be anything unusual for him.  Every time he's been anywhere near the McCord family in the past, he's been thoroughly screwed....

Elizabeth once told Stevie that 'hard' times can be the best of times, but I don't think Stevie realized it would 'come' this way.

Of course the cliffhanger has the only two agents that I care about getting left to fight.   If it was Bishop, would anyone honestly be rooting for her?

Not to fear about Gibbs and McGee for very long. Something to happen to McGee would be cruel. During the MTAC session, the woman official told Reeves that the Paraguay military had been notified that 3 US agents were in territory. Also, Bishop reported that Navy backup was made available for the helo pickup. The whole point of the story was to get McGee to realize his new responsibilities as a husband and father besides being SFA now. I am sure there will be a big scene between Gibbs and McGee about it after the rescue.

    It IS sloppy production.

Shooting in one season and trying to pass it off as another season is sloppy.  If the show's resources (time and/or money) do not permit shooting outside in the season in which the action is intended to talk place, then they should work around it.  They can eliminate the outside scenes that give away what season it is or use a green-screen with stock footage.

Also, I'm pretty sure those were not random "non actors," but paid extras who can absolutely be told what to wear.

This episode was probably the poorest effort of top writer Matt Ward so far. The story was uneventful which suggests there was some kind of directive in place to check off certain boxes before season end which made things look sloppy. All of the DC outdoor footage presented as filler.

Generally, I agree with what you say. I wondered about bringing Dmitri into his house, too.

I don't remember if they used the term witness protection but I think the reason that he was tucked away in Phoenix with a new identity isn't because they're afraid of Russian surveillance but because officially, the Russians killed him. Since they did the exchange, the would know that he's alive though, so there'd be no need to hide him because of that. But Conrad said in one of the earlier episodes that he can't divulge any details about the exchange regarding Peter Buckley, so I'm assuming that the deal involved an agreement that neither side would admit to Dmitri still being alive. That is probably a result of the fact that revealing Dmitri's identity was never an official part of the peace deal.

Since the Russians would probably not be pleased with the fact that Henry's using Dmitri for spy work even though they broke the deal it makes sense that Henry didn't take him anywhere official but, as you said, taking him home didn't seem like the smartest thing to do. I guess, a hotel somewhere in Phoenix would have made more sense.

Dmitri is in witness protection under FBI oversight. Whether he is officially dead or not is not relevant. The Russians know he is alive which makes him subject to harm from assassins.

That's weird. I said "in the limo", which is where Stevie said he was, but your quote of my comment said "in limbo". Auto Correct?

My edit tool does auto spell check unless the text is in highlight mode. I changed the spelling outside the tool to the correct context. It will be interesting to see how the writers handle Jareth moving forward.

Yeah, his being "in the limo" doesn't bode well for the actor being on the show next season, I think. On the thread for "Revelation" last week, I was saying they should show more of Stevie and Jareth getting out and doing young person things.

Casting news for S4 should start to trickle out in July. In addition, some media outlet reporter, at first chance, will ask the producers about that scene with Stevie at the house.  If Dmitri is still in witness protection, it was odd that Henry would meet with him at his house and risk him to exposure from Russian surveillance as well as allowing his daughter to identify him. Dmitri probably should not have told Stevie that he works with Henry at the War College since all the kids know by now that Dad is doing 'intelligence consulting' which is code for spy work and his cover stories(car accident, etc.) are just a ruse.

Yes, that's exactly what we're supposed to think.  And we're supposed to note that Stevie was wearing long black gloves and Dmitri was dressed like a navvy, and conclude that this match up will not meet with the approval of the remainder of the cast.

From that scene, it seems obvious that a match up is coming in the new season. I wonder if the writers tell us in the first episode next fall that a breakup between Stevie and Jareth happened during the hiatus in order to get that out of the way. Their so-called engagement happened off screen and he has been nowhere to be found since that news in S2 finale.

I'm fed up with Henry and his job but that's really nothing new. And aside from the fact that Conrad suddenly wants him to do this job which I find totally ridiculous because what reason could he possibly have to want an untrained amateur running a team in his IC, I find it has reached the point of being unbelievable that Henry's doing all that he's doing. Yes it's a TV show and yes, you always have to suspend belief to an extend, but these constant POTUS briefings from someone who has no idea what he's doing have really taken it way too far.

Tim Daly "Whenever I talk to the writers, I always push them to lean on the fact that Henry struggles so hard with the ethics of what he does and to make that complicated. Because he’s a patriotic guy, he’s a guy of faith, he wants to help his country, and yet he’s cool and he’s also someone who doesn’t see things in black and white, and he pays an emotional price whenever he has to do something that’s dubious. That’s what I always push towards, and they’re very good at it."

    Quote

Are we really supposed to think that Stevie was romantically interested in Dmitri? I was actually wondering if maybe she recognized him from somewhere though I don't know where she could recognize him from. It was a weird scene.

Tim Daly "He’s coming back into the fold. It’s this weird thing where the intelligence community now has a need for him, and Henry finds a way to bring him back in."  It was put in there as a teaser for next season and not for just one episode. That would move him back to recurring status and maybe the sister as well. It was weird in the sense that it portends that the Russian invasion story was solely put in place by the writers in order that the Dmitri agreement could be voided and allow him back in DC to work under Henry at his new CIA assignment.

I just had a stupid thought.  When Red went to Dom's to dig up the box.  He told him that Masha was actually alive.  He obviously hadn't gotten around to going back and letting the poor old man know his granddaughter was alive.  I'm assuming he doesn't have a television or radio since it was announced on the news that she was given a presidential pardon, unless he doesn't know she's going by Elizabeth Keen.  He told Dom that Kaplan never knew he existed for safety reasons. He also told Dom that if anything happened to him he was to find Masha and explain everything to her.  How would Dom know if anything happened to Red and how is he going to find Masha.  He didn't even know she was alive until Red came for the box.    If it's dire that Masha not know what happened now, why is it important for her to know after Red is dead.  Since she didn't know she had a grandfather why would she trust or believe him and how long is Red expecting grandpa Dom to live and have the energy to go searching for his granddaughter?

+100. Most viewers have good memories and they can think logically through conflicting events when they realize continuity has been somewhat lost.

10:00 start time means 11:00 during football season. I am not pleased. :/  I liked it at 8:00.

The length of the football post-game show usually causes the overrun. In many cases, the game is over on time, but the network lets it run over because air time gets good ratings given the celebrity football talking heads. NFL football post-game shows got popular about 3-4 years ago. MS coming on after 10:30PM will just kill its ratings in LIVE+SD numbers.  The only hope is a Stevie/Dmitri romance. IMO. Nadine/Mike B relationship is a lost cause. Please, no late night pregnancy stories unless its about Tim+Delilah on NCIS (Mondays) next season.

Yes, the Erin Lindsay leaving story has been done twice before. I like Sophia Bush but too much of the series has revolved around her character and also her triangle with her mom and Hank Voight. Looking back to Season 1 it seems like Antonio was supposed to have a bigger role in the series. As they went on he got pushed more and more to the sidelines till he finally departed as a regular this season. If they had continued on the paths set by Season 1 maybe Erin wouldn't have been as overplayed. Jon Seda has had a better role on Chicago Justice this past season. If that show doesn't get renewed Chicago P.D. could use him back. Antonio Dawson was a good fit in the squad, imo.

Actually, the only reason I watch Justice is Antonio and his female partner Laura working the cases. The State attorney character is bad casting because he acts too much as a foil for the assistant Stone.

Poor Jareth. It looks like his days are numbered. If Henry not in the room, Stevie looked ready to jump those flashing big biceps and bulky forearms in that short sleeve, tight fitting dark shirt.  My TV screen started glowing. No wonder there was no wedding this season for the oldest daughter.

As an impostor, Red would be trying to convince the entire world (criminal and otherwise) that he is Raymond Reddington, not just the FBI. Why would that ruin the credibility of the FBI in particular?

If he is an impostor, FBI team members could be considered guilty of conspiracy to commit murder after the fact on each count. Otherwise, the writers would not have spent so much time showing both sides working to invalidate/validate the immunity agreement.
