  1. Did he just forget? Too busy trying to fuck someone else over to save his wife's career perhaps? You're right though he didn't save her license, Axe did with a bribe and the Axe's lawyer guy helped, but I'm not sure he decided to purposefully fuck her over. He did say he would do it but didn't. I want to think it's more about Wags being a drug fueled idiot and how I'm sure that played a role in whatever life his daughter is living... and less about the stripping itself (besides being traumatized by seeing your own daughter stripping). I think Axe was just trying to make him feel better by flexing. Good thoughts though, I did have the thought of, someone's daughter has to be on that pole, and not all of them are coming from some fucked up background.
  2. I listened to the podcast by the creators and they say these meetings happen in real life... people that supposedly run the world, gather together because they think they are thought leaders and people in the room are making trades in the moment based off what these guys say in these meetings. It's not hard to imagine super rich people think they are this important and this influential that they would gather together to hear each other speak about their own mythology. I didn't have a problem with this. It wasn't like it was an open showing with a bunch of people wandering around. It was just Wendy and someone she bought with her. You just realized that? jk I find the Axe Cap people funny for the most part (except Dollar Bill). I don't have much of an opinion of Taylors group but obvious the show likes Laura. I'm trying to figure out if I'm supposed to think Mike Prince is sincere. Forgot to mention I liked the cameo by the real life Chess Master Hikaru Nakamura. The minute I saw him I was like, oh! The Chuck testing of waterboarding as torture, his line of, yes its torture..."if even I don't like it" lol. On a side note I've mentioned waterboarding a couple of time this week in relation to how it feels to wear a cloth face mask and as you breath it gets moist, I've said it's sorta like a tiny waterboarding of yourself.
  3. The show creators are recapping each episode (writing, music, shooting the scene etc.) on this podcast Behind the Billions/the recappables. Link below to the apple and spotify but you can listen wherever you listen to podcast. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-recappables/id1352523728 https://open.spotify.com/show/6vm8TG4PVag1xsfqYiI2FF
  4. There was (at least) one woman there in the group shot I saw (on the left)... doesn't change what you stated but something I noticed. I knew when Axe left early when they called for solo portraits something was going to go down with that magazine profile. I liked Taylor better when they were first introduced and they seemed like they had a soul and cared nothing about money. Like I remember when they weren't even sure they wanted to stick around after interning (or whatever their first role was), they were just interested in learning and being mentored and then going off to save the world with some bs. They have morphed into something I don't think I really like as much. I like that Chuck knew Taylor was triple crossing him, no need to make him stupid just like it would have been dumb for Axe to trust Taylor after everything that happened. Can't wait to see how this plays out, and whether Taylor will get out of this somehow. Happy Wendy started the divorce proceedings. Chuck is always ignoring her and thinking he can do whatever the fuck he wants. She told him to write something up to get it out there...what did he think? If he just didn't do it, then nothing would happen. I see from the previews he will go straight asshole on her (freezing her assets). Fine by me, no chance of reconciliation. She has a lot more money than he does I think (depends on that trust fund he blew up trying to screw over Axe).
  5. And Flaggs grandma! (loved her) and his drama with Colt (dropped him like a hot potato) to get with the boyfriend/husband/gold digger. And Madison and his all around crazy shit (anorexia/drugs? his drama with Altman's wife whose name I can't recall, and then seeing his weird relationship with that man-child boyfriend). And that show now has babies too. I like the LA show but I laughed at the comment of that show being all about the real estate.
  6. I wonder if Louis' baby, Leela (I like that name), has his last name. Leela Ortiz sounds nice... but you never know, maybe she doesn't have his name. The way he described Nikita sounded like someone who is a long time friend, not like a long time (on and off) romantic partner. Ryan trying to make fun of Fred by making it seem like he (Ryan) did everything before him (his own offices etc.)...I found it funny because I always think of Fred as more successful than Ryan (might be wrong). I mean Fred has a business in Sweden that looked very successful and its completely separate from his real estate work in NY. And Fred has never seemed like he was interested in branching outside of NY (beyond NY clients giving him work in other places) but he mentioned when talking to Derek he has a team in LA already. Also Fred seems to have really good relationships with developers who come back to him for all of their work which I don't see that much with Ryan. It might be just perception though and Ryan does a shit ton more deals...but it might be comparable since he also has a lot more people working for him. Derek comes off as aloof (hot but aloof). It might be him not loving the cameras...but I think it's his personality and I always feel disconnected from him no matter how much we see him. It seems like a big ask to say he wants to move across the country. And I feel like in asking he knows he will get it. Derek seems to think, LA means nice weather, but he has no other connection to the place it seems. You can feel how much NY means to Fred and he had a good point about his brother having just moved there and wanting to stay close to him. When Derek described NY as 6 months of hostile weather I was like, what!? lol Is he counting the beautiful and amazing Fall as hostile? Real "terrible" Winter weather is maybe 2 months time (And I would say it's less than this, if my hands aren't about to fall off and my ears aching in the wind, it's not cold). Hope they figure it out.
  7. Funny I was just watching some of Ryan's youtube videos and in this video from last year (Nov 2018) he talks about just taking on the rental property in Harlem (that we are seeing now) and in a different market he says he might not have taken it. Anyway, in the segment (I've linked straight to when he starts to talk about it) in the video below he talks about it being called "The Smile" and why, I wonder if this was before he had the talk with the developer who was quite mean I think. It was just overly harsh...but anyway I wonder if this was before that or the developer came around on the idea later or the whole scene was just for show. I don't like the name either, I did understand the criticism if the aesthetic the developer is trying to go for is cool sophisticated, but he just seemed like an ass. I missed a little bit of the numbers with the Fred and Steve situation so I wasn't sure if Fred 'won' in the end. I'm happy it seems like he did even if the property owner didn't exactly win on the final sale. Steve does seem to be going out of this way to be a jerk this year, which doesn't make sense, I thought they were all friends.
  8. I googled "pay commission even if the property doesn't sell" or something along those lines and got this. www.realtor.com Hired a Friend as My Broker, Got Offers, Then Decided Not to Sell. What Now? It has this example Chicago contract in the article: If I'm reading that right then it does happen from time to time... how often I don't know. Maybe not in normal contracts with pleebs but maybe rich folks might be ok with it.
  9. It's not illegal I don't think, it's a contract. If it states the broker gets paid if the seller pulls out then that's the penalty. How many sellers would sign such a contract, I don't know. But Ryan and Fred might have enough sway and rich enough clients that don't blink at 100s of thousands of dollars floating out of their hand because they passed gas and decided that was a sign that today wasn't the day to sell their 20M dollar home.
  10. I had to look up the word bathmophobia, I was surprised there would be a word that specific for something I didn't think that many people would ever encounter (floating stairs). But the word isn't specific to a fear of floating or open stairs, it's just a fear of stairs in general or steep slopes. That makes sense. There is also a word for the fear of specifically going up stairs, climacophobia. I can see that, if the stairs are steep enough I can get a sense of vertigo but it doesn't bother me because I don't have climacophobia. As stated previously the Steve scene was probably fake but I'm happy it was shown if that brokers storyline is going to be about her first year struggle. Because I couldn't imagine the frustration that would occur as a new broker with no money coming in having your first sale be stripped away by some flaky ass seller. I know, it's that guys home and he can decide to stay there if he chooses...it's just shitty to make people work hard to sell your house and then change your mind (if nothing drastic has changed in your life situation). As a new broker you don't have much power but I'd think brokers like Ryan and Fredrik probably have contracts drawn up that state they get paid a commission if they bring in an offer at or above the listing price, whether it sells or not for some of their clients, especially the unreasonable ones that want to price it way higher than they recommend.
  11. Does the law specify that it’s up to the buyer to find this information? Or does the law specify that the broker is supposed to convey this up front? The article made it seem like laws have been passed to protect people.
  12. Sorry for the double post but after watching Ryans latest youtube video I did something I usually try to avoid...I read the comments. Anyway, one person made some vague comment about a lawsuit and I googled it. I might have missed it being mentioned here before. I don't follow real estate news that closely or these guys much outside of the show. Ryan Serhant slapped with $1M dual agency lawsuit I found it interesting. It could be a buyer mad that he bought at the height and is losing money now that the market is down. Or...Ryan might have broke the law by not disclosing he was representing the seller as well.
  13. For anyone that wants more Ryan and less Luis (or others), he does have a youtube channel that is basically him doing the same thing he does on the show...sell very expensive property (with some personal life thrown in). https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG98giOsUxIlXV0rNUhxLew Latest video:
  14. I don't prescribe to this theory that knowing you are terrible and not caring somehow makes you a better person. Axe...the guy who we have debates about regrading whether he murdered someone, the guy who has people deported...the guy who destroys lives and entire towns to get what he wants...he is better than a person who for the most part wants to do good but isn't against bending the rules to do it and also profit from it himself. Naaaaahhhh...I don't see it. Axe has all the money in the world, giving money to some fund doesn't hurt him at all, he likely never even thinks about it...but I'm sure it benefits him greatly to keep it going. I think Chuck is a far better person as a whole then Axe...but that doesn't mean I like Chuck..or don't find things about Axe that are sometimes sympathetic. It sucks that trying to catch criminals is a lot harder if you follow the rules...because they don't have any. I agree that most people on this show are gray hats...mostly good people doing bad things from time to time. Axe is not a grey character...and neither is his hitman friend...most everyone else are in shades. edit: As an aside, the few things that make Axe seem more human (Lara (ugh), his sons, his relationship with Wendy) have slowly been stripped away. That's part of the reason I thought it was dangerous of them to flirt with having Axe turn his scorched earth eyes on Wendy a few season ago when he thought she had betrayed him. His relationship with Wendy is essential to pull him back from being just a terrible person on every level. When he went down that road of destroying Lara I was totally rooting him on because I can't stand her but it also was backing his character into a corner. He only has Wendy (and Wags to a lesser degree) now.
  15. Damn this episode was packed! So good. Maybe the best of the season. Connerty is a fucking idiot. I feel like I've typed that every time I post in here but it's true (and I love that this ep gave him that official title). No wonder Sacker dumped his ass, she could smell the fucking stupid on him and she wasn't gonna let him sink her ship. I still don't understand wtf was going on in his brain, and why he was so obsessed with Chuck so much (to the point of allowing Axe to run free). Chuck definitely broke the law in his pursuit of the criminal that is Axe but the second Connerty got in the seat he was breaking the law in his pursuit of Chuck! You doing the same shit fool. Anyway, looks like he is gone. I wonder if Kate will wind up in the coveted seat now. Why does society shackle women to their children? Those kids have a beautiful home and a father that has not been shown to be abusive or unable to care for them (and they both have full time jobs so it's not like she is their full time caregiver). It makes no sense for Wendy to drag them out of their warm bed as if their life was in danger just because she is finally done with Chuck. It would not be better for them to be uprooted and sleeping in strange places... she left the house, not their lives. Any custody issues can be dealt with later. I agree that there is no reason that Axe would trust Taylor at this point. He has to know that he has gone above and beyond in destroying them and there is no way things will be ok between them. I'm interested in how this all plays out but I hope Axe is not played as dumb, I hope he is legitimately outsmarted. edited: I feel like people put Wendy up on some pedestal she couldn't possible live up to (on this show). She is far better than most of these assholes yet she is the most maligned at times. Anyway, why would she be necessarily mad at Axe for paying someone off when she was asking her husband to pull political strings to lessen her punishment? I don't think she is proud or happy about any of it, just very grateful that someone seems to care about her.
