  1. Adam was using his poor dog like armor during the reunion. Did he think no one would hate him if he had a cute dog on his lap?
  2. Wait ... Buthisface Asston has a girlfriend? And her parents like him enough to give him a job on their boat? Still? Really?
  3. This from the guy that went to the captain to complain about Rhylee not professionally preparing enough for her excursion. Oops, Mr Miner beat me to it
  4. A clip of Captain Lee and Kate being interviewed. https://www.kctv5.com/below-deck-s-captain-lee-says-he-wouldn-t-re/video_10b57a49-62ad-559e-ba20-62d16525cae9.html
  5. From the Oi wiki. Oi /ɔɪ/ is an interjection used in various varieties of the English language, particularly British English, Australian English, New Zealand English, Irish English, Malaysian English, Singaporean English and South African English, as well as Hindi/Urdu, Portuguese and Japanese to get the attention of another person or to express surprise or disapproval.
  6. Wow! Pow! Thank you for a reminder of what the food should look like, beautiful presentation. Rhylee cheerfully asks Asston if he’s seen her knot and after inspecting it he says “That’s it. That is it.” and then sighs as though he’s disappointed. Rhylee could save Asston’s life again this season and I’m convinced he wouldn’t give her as much as an attaboy. Simone may be very intelligent but she seems to have zero common sense. Possibly she’s not all that intelligent either, but is a very good student and can study well. Did she seriously think that Kate being gone was good news for her? Disappointed that she came back? Hello? That they would be able to find a new Chief Stew for the charter starting in a few hours? How about the math of preferring to do 1/2 of the work as opposed to 1/3 of the work? That would assume erroneously that the work load is evenly split into thirds between them. Simone, may I introduce you to logic …
  7. From Captain Lee's log Well I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish everyone the very best New Year possible. These last two episodes have been two of the wildest I’ve ever been party too and not in a good way. So, let’s get right to it. Let’s start off with Ashton. I have no idea who or what you think you are doing. This story line with you getting black out drunk and misbehaving is getting really old. Over a thousand dollars damage caused by your behavior at the beach club and then make unwanted sexual advances on a superior, yeah, I said that, check your epaulettes, and then you try to physically attack her, and then you don’t even remember any of it. I don’t know but I really sense a problem here. You stated that you were going to be the bigger person and apologize but I didn’t get the sense that you thought you really should have. But the offended party, Kate, came to the wheelhouse, took the heat, and not once did she attempt to throw you under the bus. Even though you thoroughly deserved it. No, she covered for your ass. Then you have the gall to say, “when you were younger you had a temper”. News flash Ashton, you still have a temper, especially when you get black out drunk. As far as the fishing trip, Rhylee did what she was supposed to do, with absolutely no help from you. You weren’t part of the team, you just sat back and hoped that Rhylee would fail so you could toss her under the bus and say, see I told you she wouldn’t work out. Well lets just see how that works out for you. I am sorely disappointed in you and your behavior so far. My only hope is that you can turn it around, but I’m not counting on it. Tanner, in what world when you can’t even remember kissing Kate because you were as black out drunk as Ashton, do you think you have the right to come out of your bunk in a drunken stupor and pass judgement on a superior. Just because you have bought into the drunken rhetoric that Ashton has been peddling all season. Not a good move for you. First you toss Kate under the bus in front of half the crew and then you have the gall to think that she all of a sudden has taken a shine to you. Wow, I don’t know what you’re doing, but you should share some of that stuff. You and Ashton obviously belong in the same fraternity, one that I for one would not want to join. I hope you get it straight before the season ends as well, but not hopeful at this point. I see no remorse for you in your behavior, I find that sad. Simone, all you can say is that you hope you get a chief stew that will teach you something. I was hoping that you would have learned something by now, just by the power of observation, but I guess that’s asking too much. You are getting about as much out of this as you are putting in. Shame you can’t see that. Oh, btw was that Kate putting you on service this episode. Hmm. Rhylee, you did all you could on that fishing trip with no assistance from Ashton. Well done. I have to say though that for being such an outspoken person, I was really surprised when you were standing there and Kate was being verbally abused by Ashton and Tanner, crickets from you. That surprised me, but it didn’t surprise me to see Kate have your back when Ashton was trying to toss you under the bus in the wheelhouse after your fishing excursion. Other than that, I felt you had a good two weeks. Brian, not much to say. I’m really shocked that you just keep eating from the bowl of bs that Ashton keeps feeding you and Tanner about Kate and Rhylee. The fishing trip was not all that one sided at all, but you immediately jumped on Rhylee without having all the facts. I’m surprised at you. Still doing a good job on board with your duties and I know the leg isn’t completely healed. I just expected more from you. Ok Kevin, what a piece of work you are turning out to be. Without Kate continually bailing you out you would still have your head up your bum. Let’s see, we have no cheese on the pref sheet and so you make pizza with cheese. Good move, then you make the cakes and tell everyone that you’ll put the candles on and then you don’t and don’t even have candles. And Kate bails you out, again. And you state that you would be better off without Kate. In what world. Oh, and that’s a great look seeing you get carried off to bed again, when you’re too drunk to walk. That’s a reoccurring theme with you, let’s see that’s 3 or four times so far. Yeah, really good. Courtney, just another solid week for you again. I was proud of you for not bowing to peer pressure at the club. It takes a strong person to not succumb to it. Well done, and I love your sense of humor and the way you bitch about your job, but always get it done. Good two weeks for you. Kate, my only issue is that you didn’t let me know when you left or a note or something so I would know you were ok. Now that I see why you left; I really wish you would have let me know what was going on so I could have dealt with it. And I certainly would have dealt with it quickly and firmly to say the least. You showed a great deal of class by not tossing Ashton under the bus that he would’ve been deserving of. Well done. Ok peeps. That’s my take on things. Let’s hope we can get thru the rest of the season unscathed, but it appears from the previews that it’s not to be. So, we will be taking it one week at a time, prep for the worst and hope for the best. Remember, you can’t go wrong doing the right thing, may not be easy, but it will be right. Stay safe out there and thanks so much for watching and reading. See ya’ll next week. Capt Lee
  8. I re-watched the scene and captured the dialogue. I would have expected such a meeting to start with a demonstration of proper technique. Rhylee was shown practicing the knot. Rhylee was asking for more specific direction. Not at any point did they show us Tanner actually practicing. He may not even have tried one knot. Yet Ashton begins attacking Rhylee and ignores Tanner who is sitting there laughing and seems to be ignoring the task. Ashton probably told Tanner to come watch him rip into Rhylee. At no point did Rhylee raise her voice. I don't understand how any of this is Rhylee's fault … at all. I saw Ashton baiting her, hoping she'd lose her temper and she did not. I also saw that the captain made a shitty decision for boson. Over radio Ashton: “Hey, Rhylee, Rhylee, Ashton” Rhylee: “Go ahead, Ash” Ashton: “Yeah, will you meet me on the bow with Tanner, please?” Rhylee: “Yeah” Meet at bow Tanner? Or Ashton: “What’s up” Rhylee: “With?” Ashton: “Uh … I wanna give you guys a line each, and I want you to practice your bowlines, okay? I need you guys to be able to do a bowline quite quickly” (Ashton hands them ropes and she starts practicing) Rhylee: “Like, do you want me to do it and bring it?” (As Rhylee is saying this, Tanner is not practicing and looks to be just laughing at something) Ashton: “I’m sorry?” Rhylee: “When do you want us to show you or something?” Ashton: “Do you wanna do it now, or is it … like, have you got an issue with this?” Rhylee: “No, I’m just … I’m just … Ashton: “You seem to have an issue with the task because you’ve not tried to do it in front of me as … as a point” (Rhylee has been trying, it’s right there on camera, Ashton is lying) Rhylee: “I don’t have an issue with it, I just did it” Ashton: “Rhylee” (Ashton cocks his head and says her name with some exasperation) Rhylee: “A bowline knot is not something that I use on a … on the fishing boat a lot.” Ashton: “Cool” Rhylee: “I mean, I don’t know what to say” Ashton: “Yeah, the less you say, the better” Rhylee: “The less I say, the better?” Ashton: “Yeah, so keep quiet. In this situation, I’m your superior, okay? You’ve got a bad attitude. I’ve asked you to do something, okay? I’ve asked you to do something” Rhylee: “But you’re speaking to me like that, that’s any nice way to talk to me whether you’re my superior or not?” Ashton: “Rhylee, don’t come here with your attitude again.”
  9. I appreciate your several posts regarding Rhylee. You've eloquently described the issue surrounding her in a way wouldn't have been able to, so thank you. It's been mind boggling for me to see so much support for how Rhylee is the problem.
  10. My bad, still don't they send some sort of accommodation? A tent with beverages? It seemed very scripted to me.
  11. I call BS on the beach picnic situation. They always send the crew first to set up. Always. They sent the guests for the added drama of being in the middle of the decision to abort.
  12. I wonder if Kam does view Stephanie as her "Barbie competition" and that is why she is picking fights with her.
  13. I haven't seen Hannah interrupt a guest's proposal, what a huge blunder Kate made. What the hell was she thinking?? She didn't even have the sense to be embarrassed by her shitty service during the proposal.
  14. Sylva missed getting 20 plates out. There's no getting around that he didn't complete the challenge. Nothing Brooke did/didn't do missed the parameters of the challenge as much as that. Whether or not one was more creative than another is subjective. Diners eating/going without food is black and white
  15. My favorite lines of the night. Tamra - “Sometimes you’re a little bit crass” ------- Heather – “You’re being racist” Kelly – “I’m not being racist, I’m Mexican” ------ Kelly – “You’ve got no sense of humor, I was kidding” Heather – “I do; I’m Jewish”
  16. Trevor said he was 24 going on 25. Who over the age of 10 reports their age that way?
  17. I'm no doctor either, but I'm guessing nobody would be keen on taking Icky's shirt off. Seriously though, you might have a point. The way Icky was fussing I'm sure they were cautious in how they dealt with her. Especially if they knew what kind of terrible person she is. I doubt she was hurt any more than Tamra was. I believe she was only airlifted because she complained of every injury they asked her about. Did I hear her say her eyebrows were numb? I was too busy rolling my eyes about her dramatics to pay very close attention to all that she said.
  18. See? It is comments like this. There is no way anyone that wasn't very close to the situation would have knowledge like this.
  19. You missed my point, I'm also sitting on my couch with popcorn. I didn't mean I was above it.
  20. Because they actually know Lu. They've had real exchanges over the years in which to develop feelings and opinions about Lu. People sitting on the couch with popcorn (with little idea of what these people are really like) end up being much more hateful and horrible to these HWs than their co-workers could ever be. Beth in all her glory can't come close to the meanness and name-calling here. Me? I think Lu is quite the snake like bitch with a horrible voice.
  21. When I saw Brianna's kids in so many cutsie scenes, I figured Vicki wanted them there to give her a story line and to divert attention away from the Brooks issue. Now she has this positive spin to her time on the show. Judging by some positive posts here regarding the kids, it seems that the tactic may be working. It would also explain her pushing Brianna so hard to move back to OC right when they began filming the new season. The scene with the kid locking himself in the car seemed staged to me. I find it hard to believe that they'd let the kids run around the jobsite completely unsupervised like that. Vicki's dumb enough not to realize how horrible it looked to imagine they were so unsupervised. I think she figured it would be some sort of comical situation that would make everyone love her and bring her casseroles.
  22. David did NOT get into Vicki's face. Who in their right mind would want to? Vicki's face is a scary place. Vicki walked up to him and got right up into David's face. I don't believe he has any obligation to back away/down when that happens.
  23. I'm not going to take Bryon's word for Jen being incompetent. We only have Bryon's word that her knot is incorrect. He complained to her that her posture wasn't good enough. That he couldn't ask her to do something because she'd have to take a four hour shower afterwards, obviously a lie. He hovers over her every move to look for something to complain about. His obvious misogyny gets in the way of his opinion of her work. I would really like some people that actually know well a deckhand's job to chime in about how well or poorly she is doing her job. Early on, she was late one morning and wanted someone to lie about it so she wouldn't get in trouble. This has been her most egregious offense. Certainly not a good thing, but she did get up on her own volition. Shortly thereafter, Danny got to sleep in quite a bit one morning and Bryon didn't even get upset about it. If I remember correctly, Bryon had to wake him up and ask if he could possibly get up to the deck for work. As far as I am concerned, Jen has been the better deckhand. I really hope the Captain addresses some of this at the reunion.
