  1. I'm not one who's prone to get emotional during TV finales, but I'll confess - I lost it a little bit during the show open when Alan Kalter introduced Dave as "A boy from a small town in Indiana", and then a lot during Dave's final thank-yous at the end of the show. Because of that, I didn't pay close attention to the photo montage - so when I watched the embedded clip above, I lost it all over again - especially when the photos slowed for favorite guests no longer with us - among them, Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, Tony Randall, Lou Reed, and Warren Zevon.
  2. "At this rate, he's likely to show up in a tracksuit for the final show." I'm ok with it if it's THIS.
  3. I'll just point out that Courtney B. Vance seems to have a lock on the 'grieving father' role this season (first "State of Affairs", now this...)
  4. W: "Let's do sports, Charlie. We love sports." C: "You mean, like, try out for a team, or..." W: "I do not mean try out for a team, no..." I love this show but OK, WE GET IT. Will is 1 part Tom Brokaw, 3 parts Keith Olbermann. Oy.
  5. What I wouldn't give for a major "game changing twist". For example, instead of the big shiny button being the "Big Brother Rewind", make it the "Big Brother House Swap", wherein all of the terrible douchebags left in the house suddenly become the jury and all of the interesting people voted into the jury are suddenly back in the running for $500k. THAT'D be good TV. (And it would teach the houseguests a valuable lesson about pressing enormous shiny buttons.)
  6. "Arlene is Hep-V positive! Did we know that?" Yes - it was established when Eric fed from the Anubis Air flight attendant a few episodes back that once a Hep-V vamp feeds from a human, that human is Hep-V positive. (Not entirely sure how that works, since it's a one-way exchange of fluids, but...I'm not a vampire medical doctor.) And since Arlene offered herself up for the Hep-V Schoolteacher Vamp at Fangtasia...there you go.
  7. The Amy VO & accompanying images on the opening titles were added by BBC America for reasons I cannot comprehend. The episodes aired with the normal, unaltered title sequence in the UK, and (thankfully) the VO was dropped after one series.
