  1. Count me in as another one who was aghast at the "butt wings.." I had never seen anything like that before in my life. There's lymphedema, and then there's butt wings. My 15-year-old son was walking by when it was on and asked "are those testicles on her butt?" I am shocked that she didn't lose more weight just by virtue of being so large to begin with. I would think any reduction in caloric intake at her size would result in massive weight loss. It was sad to see Charity, Charly, and the "fiancée" all sitting around on that couch, stuffing their faces, with no goals/aspirations in sight. I'm sure they were all depressed. I was skeeved out by the fiancée as well. Something is not right there.
  2. I honestly don't know why the producers felt the need to show that. I understand this is a documentary (of the TLC variety), but nobody needed to see that kind of detail to get the point. I really liked Bettie Jo. Good for her for taking responsibility and taking the steps necessary to change. She could teach Penny and Pauline a thing or two. I even ended up liking Josh, her husband, although I wondered why he insisted on stuffing that hotdog into his mouth in front of her at the end. Made me wonder. But I hope Bettie Jo does well, and I wish her luck.
  3. I was in fear for that dog also. She almost fell back on him when she sat down on that new hospital bed in Houston. She could easily crush him and not find him for days...or longer. I LOL when she said, after her first visit with Dr. Now, that she was so bored and had nothing to do but sit around in her chair. WTH was she doing before that? Sitting around in her bed? The level of delusion with Pauline may have surpassed Penny's level of delusion. Almost. I give it to Penny by a hair because at least Pauline wasn't on oxygen for no reason at all. I knew it was over when Pauline kept cancelling those PT appointments. She doesn't want to change. I imagine Dillon knows nothing but this life of being caregiver to his mother. He needs more psychological help than she does. I felt for him, and I hope he breaks free at some point. Pauline should want better for her son if nothing else. As far as I'm concerned, she is an abusive mother.
  4. For some reason, Amber's story made me sadder than the others. Maybe because she was so young and self aware and didn't really try to make excuses or lay blame like some of the others *coughPennycough*. I wish her the best. My impression of Rowdy was that he was just a lazy bum looking for a free ride. The family let him live there and most likely eat and stay rent free. A sweet deal for him. He did seem supportive of her weight loss, so I will give him that. In re the sex thing: maybe somebody else knows the answer, but I seem to recall reading that at such high weights, your hormones and such will cause a person to have virtually no sex drive. This, coupled with the size issue, could be why Amber and Rowdy weren't having sex.
  5. LOL. Wonder if JD likes mustard on his French fries? Lord mercy, he is creepy. I bet his ideal woman is Michelle circa 2000. I actually saw chemistry between Jessa and Ben tonight. Or maybe it was lust, who knows. Still, Simple Ben is way too young and immature to get married. He goes around with a dumbstruck look on his face all of the time. Good luck in Duggar Land, Ben.
  6. De-lurking to express my absolute disgust for what June is doing to Anna and her other daughters. What a vile creature she is. I would bet anything that she has been carrying on with this child molester the entire ten years that he has been in prison. She probably shacked up (or got knocked up) with Sugar Bear so she could be financially supported while her true love sat in prison. I don't think she really ever loved SB. I have no doubt she probably wrote to and probably visited McDaniels in prison just waiting for his release, so she could resume what she probably thinks is the love affair of her life. These child molesters specifically target these desperate, not-so-attractive, single mothers. Because June now has a dollar or two to make her holler (and another young daughter), McDaniels must feel like he's won the pedophile lottery. I don't know if June is just a straight-up sociopath, was molested as a child herself, or what. Bottom line is she is choosing to be in a relationship, have sex with, be close to the man who forced himself upon her eight-year-old daughter. Her eight-year-old daughter. If this were my child, McDaniels wouldn't have even been sent to prison. He wouldn't have made it that far. I can't imagine how betrayed and disgusted Anna must feel. Choosing a child molester over your own flesh and blood. There is nothing lower on this Earth. Now she is putting Alana at risk. I doubt Sugar Bear will go for custody because I believe June has him completely pussy whipped. How else would you explain Sugar Bear staying with this nasty (inside and out) woman all of this time? Indeed, I bet she still has a hold over him, and he's too dumb and passive to do anything. I will also echo what an above poster said in that I bet Lauryn, who learned desperation from her mother, is screwing the son and will probably be knocked up soon. The best we can hope for is that Alan gets taken away by CPS, and Anna runs and never looks back. Pumpkin and Chubbs are doomed. Let June then rot in hell with McDaniels.
  7. The hoo-ha fisher was in Africa during the first season, and IIRC, she was on her monthly at the time. Points for being creative, I guess. As for this episode, kept waiting for Justin to grunt, throw Dani over his shoulder, and take her back to his cave.
  8. Several of the kids, John David and Joseph for example, talk with mush mouths, like they have a bag of cotton in their mouths. Those two especially speak as though they are heavily medicated or something (which I'm sure they are not unless they are sneaking some of J'Chelles happy pills). Josie needed speech therapy two years ago but since she is preciously perfect, that is not happening. I will echo those that have said that Jim Boob and J'Chelle's constant PDAs and acting as if they were two horny teens that cannot keep their hands off of each other is grating to no end. Nobody's buying that Jim Boob's libido, at almost age 50, is working like it did at age 18. I'm sure the older boys especially want to punch Boob square in the mouth. I don't know if anybody's said it but Cousin Amy gets on my nerves. She looks a bit like Kelly Clarkson without Kelly's voice. The fact that she's getting her own show trying to "make it" in Nashville is a joke. As for the homeschooling, perfectly fine if that's what you want to do, but J'Chelle "teaches" grades Pre-K through middle school the same lesson. Josie and James are not on the same level. James is too old to plant some seeds in dirt and call that a lesson on photosynthesis. And what is this two-by-two rule? They have to send the kids into the world two at a time so that they won't be tempted. Huh?
  9. I, for one, think Jill is absolutely beautiful and would have no problem finding a man based on that (and if it were only based on that, it would be the wrong man). Beyond that, she strikes me as a kind, caring, and pleasant person, albeit a bit immature. She makes for excellent wife material in the Duggar circles. I will cut Boob some slack here and say he genuinely wanted Jill to be with an equally kind and pleasant person who could potentially support a large family and didn't farm her out based on looks. First time poster!
