  1. Don't the actors always try and return to the set to witness fellow actors' death scenes? I wonder if she was there for Chad Coleman, or someone else.
  2. This is what I signed on to say, almost word for word. As annoying as Beth can be to me, I don't discount the fact that she did serve a certain purpose in "Still", which was helping to force Daryl out of his black depression. But Carol was already clued in to Daryl's past, and had been for a long time. She definitely understood where he came from, and she spent all of season 2 and some of season 3 trying to build him up, to show him he was a person of worth. Carol was working on Daryl's self-esteem while Beth was still wearing green Keds and fainting at the sink.
  3. If I remember correctly, when Maggie said that her voice trembled, as if she were on the verge of tears or trying to stifle her emotions. I'm sure I read an article somewhere in which either Kirkman or Scott Gimple said that her failure to mention her sister would be addressed. It's possible she can't bear to think too much about the loss of her father and sister. We may see her snap at some point---remember "Beside The Dying Fire", directly after the fall of the farm, when she was with Glenn and in the grip of near-hysteria over Hershel and Beth.
  4. LOL For me, there are some faces which either appeal to me or bug me right away. Shallow, but there it is. Beth's face annoyed me from the start, along with her voice and her deilvery, but it didn't matter so much because she was in the background. My irritation with her expanded along with the promoting of the character. It hit me last night who she resembles....Cindy-Lou Who.
  5. LOL!! You know...that really didn't come out the way I intended.... Well, then, I am perfectly happy to believe him. :)
  6. Which goes to show just how much of a nutcase she is, really. It makes sense that the lack of fat on her body would play into it; thanks. Now that I think of it, sun damage might have something to do with it as well. i have a raging insect phobia, and usually I can hardly bear to even look at a picture of something as horrible as the thing on her face. But I hardly noticed the bug compared to those eyelids.
  7. I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. ;) Actually, it might not mean much. There was a study done, however, which indicated men with shorter index fingers than ring fingers might be more generously endowed. So I'm withholding judgement until I get a more detailed look.
  8. I recorded the show but I haven't watched yet; I came here to get an idea of what I can expect. But on the story page--"House of Buggin'"---WTF is wrong with Tori's eyelids? They look all puckered and shriveled.
  9. I love the character-based stories and background, too. If I want nothing but zombie kills, I can watch Z Nation. TWD is so much richer than that.
  10. Like Norman Reedus said, Daryl has absolutely no game and the woman is going to have to make the first move. Right now Carol has her head up her butt----and though I say that, I don't mean it in a derogatory way, really. She's struggling to deal with having to execute a child she loved, which is no small thing. When she's finally able to spill it, hopefully she'll start to heal. And maybe the old Carol will come back---the Carol who could laugh and flirt, and the Carol who missed her vibrator. If that Carol had been present when Daryl sat down on the bunk with biceps a-blazin', she might have been more in the mood to take the bull by the horns...so to speak.
  11. Lori was my #1 hate target, and I am still so, so glad she's dead. But I couldn't stand Andrea, either. GAH, that damn pose of hers....the way she would stand with her hip jutting out and her arms all stiff. Thinking of it makes me want to slap her. We got my sister-in-law and her husband hooked on TWD, and SIL's first comment about any of the characters was, "I detest Andrea!" But yes, I agree, Daryl was never in the same category with Merle. Daryl was voicing all he knew & grew up with. In "Beside The Dying Fire", when the group reassembled on the interstate after the farm fell, Daryl made the remark about Glen driving all over the road because he was Asian. I don't believe he meant any offense at all with that remark---in fact, IMO it seemed to be an attempt at a joke, a reaction to the relief everyone felt at being reunited. Glen wasn't offended---he laughed. And it came after the experience Daryl and Glen shared in the woods when they went looking for Randall. Glen saved Daryl's life, as I recall, and I believe by that point Daryl had come to respect Glen very much.
  12. From all evidence, it seemed to be a class thing for her----dumb, uneducated redneck vs. enlightened upper middle class woman. Personally, I don't go around feeling superior to folks...although I do have a certain distaste for pompous, self-satisfied civil rights lawyers.
  13. Yeah, same here....I never saw any indication at all of Daryl being attracted to Andrea. Back then he carried a chip on his shoulder the size of a truck; he lashed out regularly toward just about everyone in the group. Personally I don't subscribe to the idea that antagonism between a male and a female means they're attracted to one another. There was some very real antagonism between Daryl and Andrea; its origin can be seen in the deleted "Vatos" scenes. I can't remember the exact wording of the conversation, but while the group is sheltering in the Vatos' deserted building, Andrea goes full-on bitch and snaps something at Daryl about him not being able to understand a word with three syllables. He responds in like manner, but I don't recall what he said...he was angry, though, and understandably so. So it's pretty clear that their relationship DID start out on an antagonistic footing, but had nothing at all to do with attraction. Andrea clearly felt superior to & felt contempt for Daryl. By the time she died in Season 3, he had come to respect her and value her, but certainly no more than any other group member, and not nearly as much as some. It's no secret that the character of Beth annoys me, but I have to give her credit for one thing. Daryl was practically catatonic after the fall of the prison and the supposed loss of the people he cared about. She did serve as the catalyst which helped to snap him out of his fugue. He really WAS one of the walking dead before he was forced into breaking down and confronting his emotions. I think he recognizes that and is grateful to Beth for it. And I believe it set him on the path to being more in touch with what he really feels for this group of people; I think we're seeing the positive effects of this growth in the deep, rich relationship he shares with Carol.
