  1. Yes Alex is trained for combat and has years of experience as a field agent. She already fights bad guys with the other heroes. James had a black belt in Karate that was never mentioned before. I hope they do something interesting with this. Alex needs an actual arc or sublot that lasts more than a few episodes.

But at least Alex has stopped talking about wanting babies, and as long as that keeps up, I'll go with this.

I don't think she mentioned it once this season. Which is great. It was such a short sighted storyline decision that threatened to ruin Alex. Even if she still wants kids she doesn't need to do it anytime soon. And why would she rush in to it when she's still fairly young and in a newish relationship?

  2. TVGuide ranks the 50 best Arrowverse characters. Alex ranked at 13, Lena ranked at 10, Kara ranked at 2. Mon-el, Winn, J'onn, James, Cat Grant, Nia and Brainy are also on the list.

  3. I was curious about her absence from the season 6 press release too. I will miss Charlie if she leaves. I hope its Maisie's decision if she is. I know she had a role on something else which is why she was missing in the early episodes. Maybe she wants more time to do other things.

Zari 1.0 is back! And so is Zari 2.0! I was wondering how they were going to solve that problem and if we were going to have Zari 1.0 and 2.0 swap with each other ever so often. But it looks like we could very well have two Zaris for next season! And I'm so game with that. The more Tala Ashe we have, the better. She kills it at both roles as well. And it also gets rid of the love triangle of Zari, Nate, and John that they were starting to build toward. I mean, it's still going to be weird with two Zaris, as one of them will DEFINITELY need some sort of nickname so that they both don't turn whenever someone calls their name, but it could work.

I feel like one of them will die or disappear and it will be incredibly sad. As much as I love both versions I would prefer it be Zari 2.0 that goes but I think she will be the one who stays.

If you are going to steal somebody from Wynnona Earp why not get Katherine Barrell, at least she looks like RR a little and could pull of short hair.

I don't think they should be concerned with casting someone who looks like RR and I don't think they need to copy her hairstyle. I think they should look for someone who can pull off the essential qualities of the character and will fit with the supporting cast.

Well, The CW president has said that they planned to continue with full season orders as planned for many of their shows and to have a shorter hiatus between seasons, so no, definitely no reduced schedule at this point. I presume Batwoman was still going to be one of those shows with the 22 episode order.

I could understand her not being thrilled with that. If they do film full seasons if will likely mean a shorter hiatus. Though I suspect the reality of filming during a pandemic will likely result in the episode orders being cut.

  7. I don't watch this show much as much as Supergirl or Legends of Tomorrow but from what I saw of it Ruby was growing into the role and had good chemistry with most of her co-stars.  It's a good thing Batwoman has a strong supporting cast.

:sigh:: This after 2 crossovers building up (female) SuperBat.

Ruby Rose and Melissa Benoist had great buddy chemistry in the crossovers. It's too bad we won't see them together in another one.

  8. According to TVLine the crossover this year is only two hours and involves Batwoman and Superman and Lois. But it will likely feature characters from other shows. We'll see if they are actually able to shoot it.

Mark Pedowitz claims that the shows will get the same episode orders and just air into summer with a small break between seasons. I am not confident this will actually happen for all of the 20 or more episode shows, especially in the case of Supergirl since it will start production later. If Covid-19 restrictions result in episodes taking longer to film they will probably have to cut down episode orders.

That said, remember back when Kelly had a two-second bonding scene with Nia when she had a triggering incident that brought back trauma over her dead fiancee? If there was no William, would all these have been Kelly-Nia friendship/working-together scenes instead? I'd take that over William any day.

Yes, it seemed like they were hinting at a friendship forming and then didn't follow up on it.

No Alex, dont put on a stupid mask! That was one of Jimmy's worst story-lines! I dont think she needs to become a masked hero, she has so much else going on, and now with the DEO exploding and Brainy being a mess, they might need her again, or at least they can find something else for her to do besides wear a mask.

This could be a cool story and I get why they are going there with the show seemingly getting rid of the DEO. But with how they handled the Guardian story and how weak the writing for Alex has been this season I am not confident it will turn out well.

  10. It did sound like they would use at least some of the footage from episode 20. But Jon Cryer did say something that made it sound like the Lex arc would be unresolved.

Alex isn't mentioned of course. I'm annoyed that Alex has hardly had any story this entire season. Her leaving the DEO was more about giving Brainy a story. Her dad was murdered by Lex Luthor yet it seems like she won't be a significant part of the final episodes.

  11. Article on how Covid-19 might impact WB production. There's talk of love scenes and hand to hand combat possibly needing to be cut. Maybe they should break up all the Supergirl couples for a while. Kara/William and Alex/Kelly aren't great romances anyway.

Series regulars should “limit flying back and forth during their days off,” and should try to stay local to the production.

This could be a problem for some Supergirl cast who commute, especially if they have spouses or kids who don't live in Vancouver.

Show....listen, you gotta cool it on the inter-team romances. Everyone is paired off with everyone and I get that they're in a super specialized field where it's impossible to really meet anyone else to date...but now we got a love triangle/love square brewing and it's weird.

Yeah I agree the writers need to tone down the romance. It's getting to be too much.  Zari and John do have better chemistry then Nate/Zari but I'm not looking forward to a love triangle or square.

  13. According to Nicole Maines the producers have formulated a plan to finish the season finale with the completed footage they have. It sounds like there might be couple of things left up in the air but I assume they will probably be addressed in the season premiere. Having the season premiere pick up right after the finale would probably be the most satisfying way to do that. I would link the website but I'm having trouble with the site and I'm not sure its secure.

  14. They were filming the season finale and had a couple of days left when they shut down production. Nicole Maines said they had a few scenes left to film. It's not clear if they shot enough to make into a coherent finale if they can't return to filming soon. We also don't know whether the visual and sound effects crew are still able to finish their work on the episodes. I heard that Legends of Tomorrow's post production crew are working on the final episodes but apparently post production work for Supernatural has been suspended.

It was very nice to see more Kelly than usual, both as Alex's girlfriend and pushing the ON/Lex plot forward, although their relationship is still very much "there" for me neither good nor bad just flat.

Their relationship feels very flat to me too. It's very underwritten and its like the writers have no genuine interest in it. It makes me miss Maggie.

It has been good to see Chyler Leigh get a real story in the past couple of episodes. She was very good in this episode. Its fun seeing her as a Super and I enjoyed the NPC versions of the regular cast. I also liked how young Alex was brought into the plot. The actress is so well cast as teenage Alex.

I am glad they finally wrapped up the Jeremiah story. It was clear they had no plans to bring Dean Cain back so killing off Jeremiah makes sense. Though I do think the Cadmus plot could have provided some good story for Alex and the show so its a shame they did so little with it.

I loved Alex's Supergirl uniform, it's almost superior to Kara's with the way everything flows together and the collar.

I loved the suit too. I think it is a superior suit for Alex.

  16. Nicole Maines talked to Inverse about Nia at the end of Season 5 and the show shutting down production. Currently some of the cast are in Vancouver, others are in LA. The show was filming the season finale and had a few scenes left. I don't know if they could make a decent finale out of what they shot or not. Hopefully none of the remaining scenes were very important. They are still waiting to resume production but I doubt that will be happening soon.

  17. That's odd. The TVline article said it completed 19 of 20 episodes earlier. I don't think the revision is correct. I think they were only filming the 20th episode when it shut down.

  18. Probably at least a few weeks for The Flash and Batwoman. Supergirl had two less episodes this season than Batwoman and The Flash so it was close to being finished. Legends of Tomorrow is already done filming.

I don't know what they will do if the hiatus lasts a long time. Supergirl might have shot enough that they could edit it into a coherent finale but maybe The Flash and Batwoman will have to finish their storylines at the beginning of next season.

  19.

Canadagraphs updated his Post with pics from a scene filmed earlier Wednesday. Dreamer, Supergirl, J'onn, Brainy with blond hair, Miss Martian and the stand in for Chyler Leigh (in a black and blue hooded outfit) were in the scene. It's possible she could be standing in for someone else but it looks like she might have the same thing on her wrist that Alex has in the promo photos for the next episode.

ETA: The color scheme of the Alex outfit is similar to her virtual reality Supergirl suit. I wonder if this is another virtual reality or if she gets a new, real suit.
