  1. There were lines Crystal wasn't willing to cross on the show unlike Ericka/Dorit/Rinna/Kyle. The more low key housewife is gone.
  2. The smash and grab part... typical the show wanted to give the bad seed a second chance to 'redeem' herself. Sometimes you shouldn't get a second chance.
  3. I loved the Franklin and Marcie specials. Long over due attention on supporting characters.
  4. Their interactions were the only organic/authentic part of season 16. I often thought they would have fit into the original format of the show better.
  5. I used to think Sunny took up the mantle left by Meghan McCain...but today I got flashbacks to Sherri Shephard (world is flat, thinking Christians came earlier than they really did, etc). Cicadas have always come and gone for many years..and solar eclipses have always come in increments...and earthquakes have been a thing for a long time as well. No need to do anything to make Sunny appear stupid...she takes care of that herself.
  6. Lauri (wallets) family scenes were so real... even when she had her attempt at having a Brady Bunch family. That therapy scene with her/Josh in season 3 was so realistic and really showed the disconnect she had in regards to what her son needed... but at the same time, he had gotten into trouble so much that a part of her just shut down in regards to him. So sad :(
  7. Ramadan is 30 days so why all the focus on that in this episode when it was Easter weekend? He could have hosted next weekend instead.
  8. Robyn was Gizelle's soft spot. Tbe few times Robyn did call out Gizelle....Gizelle legit looked remorseful and quickly said sorry to Robyn without justifying her actions. To me...Robyn vs Monique...umbrella fight is my favorite moment of Robyn's from a conflict standpoint...and from a comedic sidepoint..Robyn's reactions when Gizelle would do one of her odd beauty things.
  9. Ashley should go as well because her time is up as well. Gizelle was friendly with Karen and Ashley this season...she knew Robyn was on her way out.
  10. I see nothing wrong with non coed friendships and I viewed it as Mark wanting to make friends with other guys since he was now in college. New place, new start. And I understood the men wanting to hang out with just the guys..away from their significant others. On the OG show, Dan had his poker nights and Roseanne had her girls nights....so it's weird Becky/Jackie/Darlene have an issue with their significant others wanting guy time. The 1980s and 1990s were a lot better in some ways.
  11. Denise, at heart, is a midwest girl even after all these years living in California. I liked the darker hair she was sporting on WWHL though I wish it were straight instead of curly. Would have been a flashback to her role as Paige in Valentine.
  12. Even with Kyle bringing Kathy to the reunion, Sutton got all the attention again. I could imagine Kyle thinking to herself 'rats foiled again'
  13. I assumed the medical issues with Crystal happened after season 10 of Roseanne.. and I'm wondering if maybe her deductible/co pay is higher because she's doing more treatment/maintenance due to long term neglect. It was nice to see her again. I'm hoping we see other former friends of Roseanne pop in during this final season.
  14. So I finally watched season 5, which I'd never done before.. always stopping with season 3. I think if you watch the first 3 seasons then skip to season 5 episode 2... I think it would make the viewing of the show more enjoyable. Overall season 5 seemed to be an improvement over season 4 with a return to the original concept of a case of the week with the Thin Man concept... but the magic was gone from the show because of all that went on on and off screen. With that said, my fav season 5 episode was Plastic Fantastic Lovers... it came closest to the charm and energy of season 2 and 3.
  15. Because their 'friendships' are surface only...no depth at all.
  16. Yeah... I kind of don't understand why Julia said sorry to Lisa.. when she's basically speaking facts... Lisa isn't a good mother especially with all of her trauma dumping on everyone. No wonder Lisa and Larsa are friends. Yeah... Nepo baby needs to be quiet because he lacks the natural charisma and talent of his father Michael.
  17. And she had dinners with Ms. Tilly.. and talked at length about her marriage.. how she was still feeling the aftereffects of the marriage.. and realized that perhaps she was now copying her ex husband by being controlling herself.
  18. I like Garcelle, however she always says people minimize her experiences and feelings..yet does the same to Dorit. When Dorit calls her out then Garcelle pulls the race card in an attempt to keep focus off herself. Flopmarie tried the same thing with Sutton.
  19. Illinois is a red state except for Chicago and the Chicago suburbs. Dancing Queen by Abba is about a girl enjoying life and dancing at the local club. It's a happy and fun song. The Darlene plot was a snooze.
  20. Kyle as the OG is why BH will never be a break out show. She's Robyn Dixon. My theory on why Kyle seems hateful to Sutton post filming is because Sutton was the one people focused on during the season...a season Vyle Kyle was sure would be her season with the Kyle marriage breakdown. I hate to say it, but he seems a lot happier now that they're separated then when they were married..while she seems just as bitter and jealous as she's always been. I think the show needs a new production team..or editors.. because it seems as though the show was setting up Flopmarie to fail to catch on. Some are saying she's a one and done...but we were stuck with Teddi on here for many seasons..and OC can't seem to fire Gina even though she's a flop..so who knows.
  21. Agree to disagree. Danielle and Nora write completely different from one another so I don't compare their books to one another. The 1990s on network tv would have been the best time to start adapting Nora's books..with the higher budgets and larger selection of performers. I will say the Lifetime adaptation I liked best was Midnight Bayou...only because I have a soft spot for Faye Dunaway...she is a queen within the gay community for obvious reasons..and she was the best part of the movie (and my mom said the book was better).
  22. Sadly, Nora missed the window of having her books adapted well. The time to have done it would have been in the 90s when NBC had a whole host of Danielle Steel books adapted to some success. My mom said Heather Locklear was at least a decade too old for the character she played in Angel Falls.
  23. Jackie being in on the credit card plot was out of character for her considering she was once a cop.. and even told Darlene in the original series that her scheme to buy a VCR on credit and return it numerous times in order to actually afford it was illegal. The Becky subplot was the winner in this episode.
  24. I knew Lisa had daddy issues.. it explains why she stayed with Lenny for so long and is almost addicted to the drama of her divorce from Lenny.. and also explains why she tried to get Lenny's mom to approve of her. Kiki is more forgiving then I would be. Julia realizes she needs to make a profit on her farm and hence has turned up her pot stirring skills.. plus did the subtle shade questioning with Larsa. Lastly... I enjoyed the individual vignettes for Alexia, Lisa, and Nicole more then the final immature birthday party celebration.
  25. My late mom had a few Nora Roberts books. I liked the following: Night Tales series (Night Shift was the one I liked best) Three sisters Island trilogy (Book #2 Heaven and Earth was my favorite with the hard as nails sheriff Ripley having a romance with a nerdish researcher MacAllister) As a gay guy, it was nice to read books that were about mutual respect and being a team.
