  1. I think JH has watched too many Michelle Rodriguez action flicks. Seriously, when I see Dinah now, all I can think of is Ana-Lucia on Lost. Ana-Lulu's face was frozen in a perma-scowl, too and she used to annoy the crap out of me.
  2. Well, so much for Dinah getting a love interest this season. Looks like the "romance" will end before it has any proper chance to get started. This gives me serious shades of Laurel and Ted in season 3.
  3. Does anybody else think that Vigilante comes across as a total creep? And I don't mean creepy as in "I used to be an undercover cop, but then a job went horribly wrong and I got shot in the head and left for dead; and now that I have turned into a metahuman, I have sort of lost my marbles and decided to take justice into my own hands." I mean "I love to stalk unsuspecting women in underground parking lots late at night, drag them into the bushes and do all kinds of unspeakable things to them" type of creepy. I really don't think that's what the writers are going for, but the actor just keeps giving off that kind of vibe to me.
  4. My guess is cults like NXIVM are using their self-improvement programs to lure people in. It probably starts off harmless with a list of tasks that is relatively easy to complete. This gives recruits a false sense of success and gets them hooked, so that by the time the truly crazy stuff starts, they have already become so indoctrinated that they believe there's a method to the madness and you just need to trust in the process.
  5. UK's The Sun has a screenshot of Allison Mack's dropbox where her slaves are told to upload their collateral (aka blackmail-worthy material) at the start of every month. I loved Chloe on Smallville, but seeing that Allison hasn't really been all that relevant since the show ended, it's hard to believe that they would make it all up. If they were just trying to get some clicks, they would be shooting for a bigger name, IMO.
  6. I think if the writers wanted, there would be ways to trim the fat without any unnecessary character deaths. Rene could get his daughter back and hang up his cleats by the end of the season. Dinah and Vigilante could be Arrow's version of Huntingbird. They could settle down in a different city and start over as a happy vigilante couple. Black Siren could get an insta-redemption and move back to Earth 2 or join the crew on Legends of Tomorrow. I just don't know what they could do with Curtis after he so willingly sacrificed his marriage to play vigilante. It would be tough to get rid of him without killing him, I think.
  7. I would tend to agree. JH seemed to be very excited at the prospect of Dinah getting a love interest when the cast was at SDCC, so for her to change her tune this drastically leads me to believe that there's probably little to no romantic buildup for her character in any of the episodes she has filmed thus far. Heck, for all we know, there could be a scene in one of the upcoming episodes where Dinah is still pining over her dead ex.
  8. I'm happy for Katrina that she's starting to score more leading roles, but it saddens me that the Flarrowverse producers continue to underrate her. Nyssa would be a wonderful addition to LOT and I will never understand why they seemingly never considered the idea of transfering her to that show.
  9. I remember the show Power Rangers used to replace it's actors like some people do their underwear and occasionally, they would bring all of their former actors back for special episodes (e.g. one episode featured just about every incarnation of the Red Ranger). Let's hope the Arrow production staff never comes up with the brilliant idea to do a special Black Canary episode with Dinah, Sara and both versions of Laurel because I can't imagine anything creepier than watching 4 blonde women, all dressed in black leather and using a variation of the same superpower (the sonic scream), chasing down criminals in Star City. The implications of that are just too much for me.
  10. It is and it really doesn't matter much if you do it all in one go or over the course of several sessions because ultimately, you will have to dye it over and over and over again to keep the roots from showing up. Tricia Helfer had to go from brunette to blonde on BSG and by season 2, her hair was falling out in chunks. Luckily, it looks like her hair was able to recover ever since she went back to her natural hair color. See, this is what gets to me. David looks so ridiculously hot with the beard but they won't let him keep it on the show and yet, they seemingly approve such nonsense like JH dying her hair blonde.
  11. Honestly? The fact that everyone involved would simply rubber-stamp a major change like that only serves to underline how little this production has cared for Black Canary since episode 3x01 when Sara was thrown off a rooftop. Everything has been so half-arsed: The origin stories, the costumes and now we'll have 2 blonde women with the same superpower and dressed in black leather going up against each other. That will make it very hard for most viewers to keep track of those 2 characters when they share the screen next season. Er, I never said that anyone forced her to do anything, but IMO, it's pretty stupid to have a clause like that in a contract when you are not going to enforce it when one of your actors has a stupid idea like that. Other - and frankly more competent - productions are more hands-on than that, like for example the BSG reboot where Katee Sackhoff had to cut her hair into a bob for the Kara Thrace role.
  12. Really? Didn't Stephen once say that he has a clause in his contract that he has to keep his hair and facial hair at a certain length? I seem to remember hearing that once in one of his Facebook Q&A's and if they have a clause like that for their leading actor, they should also have it for their supporting cast. It just seems like they don't really exercise it as they should when their actors make really stupid decisions like JH going full blonde for Black Canary. Not only is it absolutely ridiculous that Dinah would actively try to turn herself into a physical copy of her predecessor, but I also can't imagine that the blonde hair will look good/natural on JH. Her complexion and her natural hair color are simply too dark, IMO
  13. Yeah, it's so dumb and lame but sadly, it was to be expected. It's as if the people working on this show only have one specific look in mind for Black Canary when she was actually dark haired and wore a blonde wig for the better part of 4 decades. It's easy to blame it all on the actors, but it's just as much on the producers for not insisting on a different look for the character.
  14. One word: meh. I was really hoping they would give her an upgraded version of Sara's BC outfit, but this one looks straight out of a cheesy 90's superhero flick. The Black Siren costume looks so much better, to be honest. Hopefully, the new BC suit will look better in action. I do like that they seem to be sticking with the brunette look, but for whatever reason, her hair appeared to have much better flow last season. They really need to go back to that style.
