  1. I was just coming here to post about Jaleesa. Shocker- she had time management issues and didn’t make her Italian meringue in time.
  2. Finally watched (binged) season 3. It was an intense watch. The actress playing Dede did a phenomenal job. My takeaway is that while Elena is attempting to grow into a full and independent person, her past holds her back. Nino and Lila are like a mirror for her. In Nino she sees the idealized version of herself, and in Lila she sees the manifestation of all of her insecurities and self-doubt. Lila draws people in and has incredible confidence. One has to wonder if she would have actually succeeded to the level that she and others believe she is capable if given the opportunity. I'm excited to see season 4 with the new actors. I'm often wondering while watching if the actors playing Elena and Lila are truly that one-note, or if that's the direction they are being given.
  3. Normally I'd be annoyed by someone being as cocky as Budha, but I'm not because he is simply that good. I'm fine with the final four, though I wish Tom had been out several weeks ago. I assume that Budha will (and should) win, but it is Sara's food that I most want to eat. Glad she's back in the competition.
  4. While watching last night I was thinking that the rest of them should make an alliance with Stacey and offer her $25,000 from whoever eventually wins to tap and get Jeff out of the game.
  5. Yes, that's how I read it. She's truly moved forward and feels secure in herself. She no longer needs to do anything out of spite and can simply enjoy her life (including gifts from Rupert that once had to be put away).
  6. Yes, this is an actual thing. From Wikipedia: Gillette Labs Soccer Saturday is a weekly television programme broadcast on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland during the football season. The programme updates viewers on the progress of association football games in the United Kingdom on Saturday afternoons. The current host is Jeff Stelling. The programme is sponsored by Gillette Labs. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Don't care if parts were trite, don't care that thing are getting wrapped up in ribbons- I simply enjoyed it. I'm fine with less Ted. he was always better in small doses for me anyway. I have loved the evolution of Jaime Tartt throughout the series, and laughed out loud with the realization that he is Roy's best friend.
  7. Wow- there was a huge discrepancy between the levels of talent of the bakers. Some of the results looked better suited for Nailed It or Kids Baking Championship. Poor Christian must have been going nuts watching this at home. Not only did he do the gelatin cake first, but oh so much better than this crew.
  8. I adored the judges last night discussing Eric's sparkling beard. Also, I believe there was food.
  9. Jeff is completely delusional. I loathe everything about this self aggrandizing, faux-Christian, chauvinistic, misogynistic garbage person.
  10. This episode made me sad. And hungry. I love Victoire, and rationally I knew she would be out of the competition soon, but this still hurt. I knew she was going home when she made the choice to neither dress nor season the cucumbers in any way. That made no sense whatsoever. While Gail was absolutely correct in stating her assertion that Victoire had no good dishes, I wish Gabri had gone this week because he will likely be a liability next week in the double elimination team challenge. His manic energy often does not serve him well in these pressure situations. Add me to the list of someone who has not been impressed with Amar in the past but have found him more likeable and impressive as he becomes more confident and relaxed. I figured he would win because he was cooking with joy in this challenge but would have personally liked to see the win go to Sara. I loved that she interpreted a thali to her palate rather than trying to make a dupe. I consistently want to eat her food.
  11. Were the veggies paid for by the first team? If so, I don’t understand why someone couldn’t take them to the kitchen for them. I’d hate to see Gabri eliminated for that. His dish would have had more texture if he had the cauliflower.
  12. I understood that she murdered her father, so having him live with her was part of her plan to poison him or however she did away with this one. With so many murders under her belt it’s hard to keep track.
  13. Yeah, I was mocking Preston’s bizarre pronunciation.
  14. Why am I still watching this? I simply do not like this show, but it doesn’t merit hate-watching. Sort of annoyed that Jess was sent home- the way that the duck was sliced was as big an issue as the cook. Saba insisted that she slice the duck like that. Maybe it’s because I cannot stand Saba, but she was in charge, did very little, and did not impress me at all. I’d never heard of Pate a Joo before. Preston is super annoying. Omar has a huge chip on his shoulders, and though he is not the worst COOK there, he should have gone home week one. Sigh.
  15. Tucker did not bake a cake- she baked brownies.
  16. Gabri said he wanted to do the peppers. Tom said he was doing the peppers. Gabri said he had never done lamb, and Tom (with arms crossed) again said he was doing the peppers. Gabri basically shut down at that point and said fine, he’d do the lamb. Yet another reason I’m strongly disliking Tom. He has two modes- goofy/charming or obstinate bully. I suspect he uses one to cover the other.
  17. It’s interesting- it seems that most of you view Christian as smug. To me he comes off as needy and insecure. I and not an American-style cheesecake fan, but thought that Molly’s flavors and Luke’s flavors sounded incredible. I wish they would have played around with the cheeses and not all have used cream cheese. Ricotta or goat cheese would have been interesting. Really glad Clement wasn’t eliminated.
  18. Re: Dead Man Talking: George Santos would say ‘is this guy for real?’
  19. What a marvelous hour (+) of tv!
  20. April was sent home this week because the prechosen narrative for the week was that April's decorating skills were not up to par. At this point I don't get too angry about these decisions because most of the obvious fodder is already gone, and there will ultimately only be one winner chosen. Luke and Josh have been more underwhelming than April and should have been eliminated before April in my book, but Josh's chocolate work carried him through this week. His crust was not properly baked from what I saw. This season is Clement's to lose.
  21. Truly underwhelmed by the quality of cooking on this show. Confused by the elimination, but also felt it was very unfair to give the second group of ‘chefs’ the advantage of seeing exactly what the first group cooked, and how they were judged. Guy who made bean purée, blanched kale and couldn’t properly cook the langoustine should have gone home.
  22. Cannot stand Omar- he lost me the second he woke Raven and whined to switch places with him because he was getting bitten by mosquitoes. I’m sure people will say that she was bossy and he’s a saint, but sorry- he would not let her finish a sentence from day one and he left her alone without a fire started or a machete.
  23. I guess you’ve never watched a season with Phi Phi O’Hara.
