Well that is some major BS, in my opinion. Not once but twice Tom has the chance to pick someone over Soo and no, by golly, they are both so good they get to continue on - this time back (or introduced into, finally) the Top Chef Kitchen.

I generally avoid conspiracies but the sense that the fix was in to get Soo into the competition at all costs is just unshakeable for me.

I'm fine with it because I have a very strong dislike for Kaleena, and I like Soo (and his cooking) so far. Charly seems like a lovely person, but his cooking was underwhelming all season. I did not like the shade that Valentine was showing at Soo- way too much ego for someone who was the second contestant sent home.

I wish they took cost into consideration -- tres leches cake is a fairly cheap dessert to make, and the fact that hers was soggy and overly sweet and the cocktail didn't go with it meant she wasted that budget.

Tres leches cake may well be a fairly cheap dessert to make, but apparently adding that fourth leche puts it in a different stratosphere.

  3. I'll likely watch this, but I do not need watch to know how awful this brand is. I once brought my daughter into one of their shops. At the time she was five feet tall and barely 85 pounds. Everything she tried on was 'one size fits all', and everything was the correct size for her. I was nauseated and angered by how this must make an average sized child feel.

  4. This episode left me cold. I liked that they only called out the obvious winning and losing team, but that was essentially all I liked about the episode. While it was interesting to see all of the FLW architecture, I tuned in to watch a cooking competition.

I'm fine with the people who were sent home. Last episode, I could not believe that Kaleena was in the top for using store bought pasta, and she seemed to be a terrible communicator.

Is Michelle going to start every challenge by declaring that she's not familiar with xy and z, and she's not sure what she'll do?

I'm hoping that Manny will start cooking the way he did in the first episode.

Overall, I'm underwhelmed by this group.

I wish Michelle would quit calling herself a pit master. She's a chef, clearly.

Yup, I like her, but that whole spiel is getting very old, very quickly.

  6. I'm tired of watching the judges feign dismay about the 'surprise twist' not working. What did you expect when you give them fruit punch as an ingredient after they have baked their cakes. I'm glad Steven wasn't sent home. I kind of wish Alex had won last night for so fully embracing the use of sprinkles in this (blessedly) Molly-free season.

    Successful by what metric?

Interesting to see Jess King on that list... she was not treated all that well by the show and she clearly deserved more kudos than she got.  Also quite interesting that Comfort, who replaced Jessica King is on the list at the same time.

Will and Jessica's hiphop S4 is still one of the most underrated dances -- it always seemed to me like someone on show admin had fought with the choreographers or something.  I don't think they ever came on the show again, but I could be wrong.

Agreed. There are some glaring omissions from this list. Travis Wall? I understand he's had his controversies, but he has had undeniable success. Kent Boyd? Jenna Johnson? Ricky Ubeda? Jess LeProtto? Neill Haskell? Just to name a few.

  8. Joey on Daisy- she’s been through so much and she’s very special.

Joey on Kelsey- she’s amazing and I love being with her.

The choice seems obvious to me.

I just  finally watched the last audition episode and you know what jumped out at me? The bad editing that makes it clear how scripted and fake this all is.

When they show the judges from behind, supposedly watching the dancers, it's like the exact same shot every time. The judges are in the exact same spots, none of them are really moving much, the paperwork in front of them is in the exact same spot every single time.

Then during the auditions things keep changing randomly. Comfort had these gold clips in her hair and the number of clips and position of them kept changing. The paperwork in front of the judges would disappear and reappear. Sometimes Comfort had loose paper on top of her binder, sometimes that loose paper was gone. Several times the paperwork would literally vanish off of the  judges table altogether only to reappear  in the next shot. This was happening during the same audition so it can't be chalked up to auditions really being filmed over several days and they just put the judges in the same outfits for a week straight or something.

The drag dancer threw his sparkly headscarf to Maks, which he put on his head at first and then took off and laid on the table in front of him. Yet there  wasn't a sparkle in sight when the camera cut to the judges reacting to the dance or where they were shot from behind. And when the "dancer" got his scarf back from Maks, all we saw was the back of someone in a sparkly outfit walk up, shot from the shoulders down.

I barely paid attention  to the dancers once I noticed all of this. All I could focus on was the fakery.

Hopefully they watch all of the auditions, then call them back to discuss. It would be unfair if they had a certain number of spots available and made decisions before seeing everyone.

I am going to have to break up with Dateline if this is what they do now—recycle the same stories over and over again just to add 5 minutes of new content to it.  Remember when they used to tell the whole story all the way through the trial at the end?! Even if there is an update to the case, just put it on the Dateline website.  Please stop with telling the same tales and get back to shedding light on stories we might not have heard about.

Normally I delete these recycled episodes, but I knew Jennifer Dulos when she was Jenny Farber, so I watch all of these episodes out of respect for Jenny and her family.

  11. I will continue to record and fast forward through the episodes until we get to actual dancing. I loathe the sob stories. If the direction the show really wants to take is to feature commercial dancers who are ready to be hired today, they need to quit with the sob stories and back stories in the audition rounds. Sure- it is a reality competition show, so as the show progresses, tell us more about the dancers. What we are being shown now is useless drivel. There have been a couple of stand outs, but I haven't seen many dancers yet that looked any better than the dancers I've seen recently at my daughter's comps. The real tell will be when they get to choreography. The ability to pick up choreo quickly in multiple genres will separate the wheat from the chaff.

I hope someone got the coats for Kelsey and Jenn.  I noticed all the women walked in the lodge and took off their coats.  But after the rose ceremony they all walk out to the SUV in their dress with no coat.

    Polar rejection?
