  1. what a beautiful series. I understood their love, friendship, conflicts. so human, sweet, sincere, sad, funny. the longing, happiness, sadness. Ian was such a good bloke too. what I liked was that most of the characters seemed liked real people: messy, funny, infuriating and loveable. trying to figure it out what to do in this world.
  2. I thought this season was really lousy. Most of the acting, directing, script, even the music score. The story is compelling but they chose to tell it in a way that was so cheesy, It was weird. They had actors Inormally like but it was so emotionless for me. Really bad.
  3. Breckin Meyer? Everytime I see Phil I think of Breckin's character from Clueless.
  4. Are the storylines similar to the book? Nan and her mother?
  5. I like Johnnie. It's been a while since I saw a participant that seems like a real person. Yeah, she was petty and admit to that. I thought her reaction to Chris was fine considering they dated for a few weeks. She didn't talk like she was coached by a HR representative or a PR. She was so over it that I kinda had to laugh. I sort of think Lidia did tried because of Uche and she could've backed off but he seemed a bit jealous also? Not jealous but maybe wanted to kniow what she was saying? I still find the whole situation with her becoming close to Aaliya a bit weird but people do weird things I guess. Taylor seemed to bel mad. Did they tape the reunion before the season aired? I thought it was weird Stacy and Izzy describing the BBQ.
  6. I don't think I'm understanding why Izzy is so mad at Johnie. I mean...didn't she broke up with Chris right after Izzy kept saying he wanted someone that wanted him (or something like that)? Then he chose someone else that he's into.
  7. Mabel loves her besties so very much awwww! She was happy to be with them. So many smiles from her. So, who was calling Ben at the party? Who was that important to him that he immediately had to take the call? Was it mentioned? I'm betting that Donna poisoned him but the killer is someone else. I don't want to be Loretta or Dickie because I love them. lol
  8. I loved everything about this episode. Please, don't make the murderer Dickie or Loretta. I love them. Actually, I like most of the cast this season. I want everyone to be happy lol.
  9. I've gotta say that David Schimmer and Jen Anniston had amazing chemistry. Ross and Rachel together or as friends or as ex fighting gave tv great moments.
  10. aw! I liked the last episodes. I'm pretty sure the dad is Sid. I like Jesse too and I can see both of them with Sophie. I wish they woudn't go for a love triangle with friends so close but...I think that's where it's heading. I did think older Sophie was very touched by remembering that perfect kiss. It's was so well acted. I was moved. Also, the scenes with Valentina and Charlie were great. I was surprised how happy I felt that they're together in the future. Hannah was great too. I was sad about the break-up. but...yeah, it's becoming more and more clear that Sid is the dad.
  11. hmmm. I think so. I liked the premisse and a couple of episodes. But the last ones were a bit rough for me because I was expecting something else, I guess (but that's my fault. I think I'm missing a sort of content that it's just not being made or is being cancelled after one season).
  12. I keep waiting for this show to be something that it's not (a story about two friends who are very close - you can even put a bit of tension - but aren't always making you guess that has something more to it. also, a show about two functioning adults. I can relate more to Girls than them lol).
  13. I don't know. I woundn't want Jules around too if I was Bernard (who wants people to obbey him without being questioned). She's not someone he would be able to control. About the cleaning...I think the fake video shows what people want to see (that it's possible leaving the Silo). So I think they lose all rational thought when they are exposed to that image. Also the second they step outside they're being poisoned by the toxic air, right? That probably messes with their senses. Juliette wasn't being poisoned (because of the tapes) and understood that it was the same video that she saw. She also was aware of what a video was (because George left her that message. I don't think Alison knew about that.).
  14. was this an weird homage to Twillight or Kristin Stewart?lol I thought Masey last look and nod to her was ambiguous. Like she was waiting for her to photography before pulling the trigger. But I'm not sure.
  15. Yeah, the different personalities every episode kinda bums me out. That's why the bro code bit doesn't work. These characters are not bros. I think I miss them looking like grown ups. Adults with doubts, faults etc. But grown ups. Friends, HIMYM, Living Single, Scrubs...they were sitcoms and ensembles with plenty of high jinks but the characters were mostly like people, I guess. I actually don't want Sid and Hannah breaking up because it's a storyline that has a real conflict with feelings I can understand. But I'm still watching.
  16. That's how i saw it too. I agree that jason's acting was more subdued in this episode (and, mostly, in the season). But what I took is that in season 1 Ted appeared extremely happy to almost everyone but was deeply conflicted inside of himself. His sadness didn't appear to the other characters in general. His panic attacks were also about that. Season 3 Ted can be sad and angry. Happy too. To me it felt like he was less of a caricature and more truer to what he was experiencing: happy but also bittersweet. But the show let a lot things open...so I don't know. Maybe I'm overreaching.
  17. I felt so good watching it. Even if this season wasn't perfect. Just made me hopeful...for something, for everyone. I'll take it. Too many thoughts but I have to sleep now. lol It's very late. I was so happy with Jamie reading the book that Ted gave him (I'm actually reading The Damned and the Beautiful this month) and Roy with Dr. Sharon. And Nate being assistent to Will. And Keeley being competent. Rebecca and the fans. Colin and Michael. Isaac. Beard and Ted saying I love you. And Ted seeming truly happy and not only acting like he's happy.
  18. Maybe they thought that good lines and a famous cast was enough? Or that Misty was very popular and amped the comical tone? Maybe they watched too much Heathers between seasons? lol I just think that the acting seems deliberate to be "funny" even if the storylines aren't or if it makes sense with the rest of the show.
  19. I think it's interesting to set up Nat as the leader and Ben trying to kill them. It's a great conflict because they like each other and I think both sides can be argued: that the girls are completely out of their minds and scary and, at the sime time, he had check out and they had to survive mostly without him. The 90s timeline it's constructed in a way that I can see everyones sides. Did Lottie tell them to kill Javi? No. Of course, not. Was Misty right is saying she beginned all the sacrifice to the woods thing? Not entirely but she has a point. Lottie started the rituals with blood etc (I can't remember. Did Lottie tell the girl she's out of her meds? Do they know she has a psychiatric diagnoses? Not hat it would matter at this point because they are all hallucinating.) Is Mari annoying? Yes. Do I understand she clinging to Lottie and being extremely resentful of Misty? Also, yes. The present storyline it's a slasher movie or a parody like Scary movie. I think it's intentional (Melanie and pretty much all the acting choices of the protagonists makes me think this.) But it worked better in season 1 probably because the tone wasn't so extremely comical and the 90s wasn't so extremely dramatic).
  20. I think it's "easier" for Coach Ben to judge and hate them because he was already pretty much checked out after losing his leg. The other ones are desperate to survive. He's not. Who would've thought I would ending up liking Callie? lol The present timeline mostly seems like it's written and acted like it's a B horror movie/suspense. Or the Scream movies. The 90s storyline feels more like a drama series. The acting is more nuanced and a lot less comical.
  21. I liked that Ted seemed annoyed with his mom. Almost like a teenager. He lost his sense of humour completely and was so embarassed. His scene saying "fuck you" sort of reminded me when Sam was annoyed with him because he thought Jamie was coming back to Richmond. It was strange but maybe he did adapt to England culture. lol. To me the main point was him realizing that he was scared of being close to Henry. When his mom said "your son misses you"...I was: YES. There's a few things that I would've changed about this season but the main one was therapist one. It partly took away something that would've been much more interesting to me: Ted understanding that the space he gave Michelle was also because he wanted to run away from other things (including his anger towards her, Henry growing up, his feelings about his dad). This episode made me want to call my mom (and say sorry for all the teenagers sulking years). Also, I did apreciate Beard first reaction to Nate coming back being so strong. And it was much more easy to understang him forgiving Nate because it was a way of thanking Ted. I don't think the team knows that Nate leaked to the press the information about Ted.
  22. I loved that Ted finally had an insight about being scared to get close to Henry and why he's still in London. Just for that it was great. Roy understanding that was something wrong with Jamie because he was so humble (and didn't care about Van Damme using that awful mask = A+). Heh. ETA: "That goal was a lie. I apologize to everyone, especially the kids." heeeeehe. "I do believe in second chances, Ted.That's why I'm still married and all my sons are alive." This episode had great lines.
  23. I think I was the one who said what you were refering to. My point wasn't that Rebecca told Ted because Keeley blackmailed her (I agree with you about the lightbulb moment). What I was trying to argument is that she didn't stopped until that and that I can appreciate Nate's arc being different. He wasn't fired or was losing (like Jamie) or someone actively made him stop behaving badly (like with Rebecca, Colin or Isaac). He was winning, had prestige, Jade. And still somehow he started regretting his actions. I agree with you though about the "why" not being showed in a way that the audience could grasp. I think the biggest mistake they did was showing Nate in the first episode of the season still behaving very angrily towards Ted and Richmond (even though I can think that his first press conference was before him seeing his work being recognized as headcoach/topdog or whatever. He needed to spit under the table to talk with the journalists). Then the next episode that largely featured him was Big Week (which showed he wanted to apologize to Ted. I remember writing here that it felt like I missed an episode or something because the change seemed so sudden). Maybe if he was more conflicted in the first episode it would've landed better.
  24. I wanted to like Eloise more but she's so clueless and entitled. She makes Emma Woodhouse a more sensible and wise person in comparison. I mean...the scene with her talking to the other women about not disobeying their mothers. So entitled. She clearly thinks she's so above them all. Or the way she reacts when someone asks her to dance. I also thought her speech to Penelope a bit hypocritical. She didn't seem to mind LW talking about Marina in the beggining of the season. She was happily reading (and wanted LW to say more about her "cause") until it said something about her (which I do understand but...). For someone who says so much about woman rights she seems to not understand AT ALL why the others need to get married. She talks about them with contempt not sympathy or empathy. Also, I didn't really buy that what made her step back from Theo was about him. I think when he leaned over to kiss her she understood that actions would've consequences for HER (and her family). ETA: LW did something nice to Eloise after told about the pressure of being compared to Daphne in the first episode of the season. Saying to Penelope that dig about being an wallflower (when she knows that she has no suitors for two seasons)...way harsh, Tai.
