This is all performative for Jill. She wants to race down to Florida to be best grandma ever, but doesn’t want to do any of the work. Did she hurt herself? Maybe. But why is she forcing Rodlets to take multiple photos of her being helped into a van? Then taking photos of her CVS knee brace and her swollen foot and posting these all to social media? And the long ode to the ogre detailing all he had to do for her because of her severe injury. It’s like she’s trying to show evidence that justifies sitting on her butt for however long in Florida instead of actually helping a very new and likely exhausted mother. If she was actually employed, you’d think she was building a workmen’s comp claim. Instead, Nurie will likely be serving Jill while Jill props her feet up and takes photos with the baby for Instagram. She didn’t specify how long she’s staying so I’m sure she can grift a few restaurant meals out of Nathan before she leaves.

LMAO! Mean! But I laughed, so I guess I’ll end up on Lydia’s prayer wall too. A few of those Plathlets look exactly like Barry though, and Micah, although he happened to hit the genetic jackpot, looks exactly like Kim. Truth be told, they all sort of creeped me out and it was their creep factor that drew me in initially.

This episode was so “Donna Martin Graduates!” that I felt slightly angry at myself for actually watching it. The trouble in teen town drama, the ominous music, the will-she-or-won’t she, all felt like some discarded episode of Swans Crossing. I felt like I was eavesdropping in a high school cafeteria. Max seemed to be the only logical person in saying, “hey, maybe let it go for now?” Which Ethan seemed to agree with at first, but then couldn’t wait to run and tell Moriah and Olivia that Kim was there. Did we even hear a performance? I think I heard Moriah whisper one breathy off-key note.
Did I also miss where they explained what happened to Max’s leg?

LOL Jill and Kim Plath are friends. Two self-centered nut jobs feeding off each other like the Joker and the Penguin. I do wonder if Jill looks down on the Plaths considering Kim is Barry’s *gasp* second wife! Ethan Plath said Jill tried to set him up for marriage with Nurie. Micah said his parents only allowed them to associate with families like Jill’s (he didn’t name her specifically) but he now enjoys being able to go out and make his own friends of different backgrounds. I know Nurie and Hosanna Plath are “friends,” but I wonder if any of the other Rodlets could get an SOS message to the Plathlets for rescue. Even pious 1992 time warp Lydia Plath can at least wear jeans and keep her own eyebrows.

I agree with what one Redditer speculated, that Jill goes on an all-out campaign to destroy her daughters so they can't compete with her. Tessie was a gorgeous girl, and then boom! She hits puberty, the eyebrows have been massacred and she looks like she's on death's doorstep. I truly believe Jill is that extreme of a narcissist to do such a thing.
I think with Kaylee and Nurie spending their time doing the most important things women in their cult are allowed to do - courtin’ and birthin’ and Jill acting as a barnacle to them both, Tessie and Renee have probably been saddled with triple the amount of responsibilities they had before. They’re having to try to feed and dress their siblings and then sit in these random churches for hours on end. Not to mention being stuck in a cramped RV where it’s absolutely impossible for all the children to sleep in beds.

Yes. Someone on Reddit posted a few more screenshots and I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic in saying Tessie looks like she’s near death. Renee is sitting next to her wearing some old lady Talbot’s blazer and looking absolutely miserable, but not as bad as Tessie. Tessie looks both starved and exhausted and her eyebrows are gone. She’s wearing a thin sundress on top of a black t-shirt. It’s really a sad sight.

For Ethan, Olivia is not just his first love, she’s his first friend. She’s the first person outside his family that he was allowed to spend any significant time with and that didn’t happen until he was almost an adult. His entire life is completely wrapped up in her and he seems to not know how to function without her. I can understand how that can be exhausting for Olivia as she’s trying to find out who she is herself. I think they work as friends, but both are way too young and inexperienced to be married to anyone right now. If Micah gets some modeling work overseas, I think it would be great for them both if Ethan went along.
Kim is a trip with no luggage. She made sure to shade Gay by pointing out that Gay was divorced and remarried while she is still married to her first husband. She neglected to mention that she’s actually Barry’s second wife though.
Max laying on Micah’s bare chest and pretending to put his mouth on his nipple was...uhh interesting.
ETA: When I opened this thread, there was an advertisement for a bunch of tiny shorts lol.

I have chronic heat edema. Nothing wrong with my thyroid, my heart, or any of my other innards, but if it’s hot or I’m standing for a long period of time, or if I’m seated at a bar stool, my feet swell. I think Jill is milking this. She may have “fallen,” but I don’t believe she tore anything or is even slightly injured.
