  1. Paolo was miscast.  Ramirez wasn't nearly good-looking enough to play Paolo. And no sex appeal.  And I say this having seen the real Paolo in several documentaries.  ERIC BANA (who played John Meehan in Dirty John) would have been perfect.

What character is a cross between a boy and a bird? Someone with wings?… nothing. Maybe a beak? A long nose, perhaps?

Well, I am a big gymnastics fan and my thought process went like this:  Cathy Rigby, one of the first great American woman gymnasts, was on a tour of PETER PAN because of her ability to "fly" through the air with her leaps.  She came to my town.  Ergo, PETER PAN.

Maybe it's because I live in FL, but the whole Living+ thing reminded me of The Villages, where Tom would have lots of fellow ATN citizens.

YES!  That was my first thought.  I figured  they would  just add a  building  to Living+ for cyrogenics/research (or whatever it's called).

My vote for the most insipid, bland, meh movie of the season is The Professional Bridesmaid.  Even the things that would normally drive me crazy (everything about her job, the whole fake name/fake job business, the idea that the wedding of the daughter of the mayor of a small town would be of interest to anyone, never mind enough to have a reporter follow her around for a month, the fact the intrepid reporter would fixate on the condominium question like it was Watergate) faded into a fugue of boredom, given that the female actress was terrible and the male actor wasn't hot enough to get me to overlook everything.

Awww... I enjoyed it, notwithstanding your entirely accurate review!  I usually don't watch non-Christmas Hallmark movies, but I enjoyed the leads.

Now as for The Blessing Bracelet, I enjoyed it at first but a couple of things really bothered me:  her ex- came to town with a big check and she turned it down.  I appreciate that she thought she could make it on her own, BUT I BET HE OWED CHILD SUPPORT AND DEADBEAT PARENTS SHOULDN'T BE LET OFF THE HOOK!  She could have said, "I don't need it, but this will be a great college fund for Justin!"

Also, she says she makes her new business on her own.  No, she doesn't.  She is running a sweat shop:  taking advantage of her friends and NOT PAYING THEM.  I could understand the initial run, but not when she is getting corporate orders.  Tithing to the church?  Terrific.  But she should be paying her workers.  Even better, she could hire the folks like homeless women or disadvantaged youths.

And someone who was vehemently anti-smoking would now, in his middle age, take the habit up? WTAF?

Simple.  Aidan gets lung cancer and dies, thus setting up Season 3:  Carrie and Steve bonding over their mutual heartache... and fall in love.

  7. Watching Four Continents Ladies Final on E!.

WHY did the powers that be insert the inane Andrea Joyce into the performance part of the show?

She's no Terry Gannon.  And I hate her idiotic comments and trivia and how she ONLY talks to Johnny.

And she sounds like an idiot when she proclaims, all THREE US skaters in the final... and we can see Isabeau is not there.

Not everyone needs a college degree. Has anyone tried to get a plumber or an electrician or service for their HVAC recently? And let me tell you a lot of these people make a shit load of money .  We really do need to be pushing trade schools as an aspiration these days and not like we did years ago,  where Boces was a bad word.

The problem is the trades themselves.  They don't advertise, they aren't credentialed, and in many cases, the graduates complain that what they learned there is not relevant to the "real world" (sound familiar?)

I know three young men who went to welding school.  Not one stayed in the field for more than 3 months.  The reasons?  One found out the skills he was taught were out of date; the second at the small welding shop found out the boss's son got the easy jobs, and the third learned it would take YEARS to get into the union.

And where do you learn painting?  Drywall?  Bricklaying?  No one knows.

And those who want to become an electrician quickly finds out that there is a LOT of classroom learning and yes, written tests.

As for plumbers, as my plumber said, "I lose them the first time they get covered in S*IT."

Every time I see Gracie skate it is like watching an empty shell.  She goes through the motions, but there is no energy or personality.  I wish she would know she doesn’t have to skate if she doesn’t love it.  Or maybe she does but just can’t show it effectively.

She should skate to "Waiting on a Miracle" from the Disney film Encanto.... Aside from some film-related lyrics, the song is SO Gracie.

    Always walking alone
    Always wanting for more
Like I'm still at that door longing to shine
    Like all of you shine

All I need is a change
All I need is a chance
All I know is I can't stay on the side
Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes

    I would move the mountains
Make new trees and flowers grow
Someone please just let me know, where do I go?
I am waiting on a miracle, a miracle

    I would heal what's broken
    Show this family something new
Who I am inside, so what can I do?
I'm sick of waiting on a miracle, so here I go

I am ready, come on, I'm ready
I've been patient, and steadfast, and steady
Bless me now as you blessed us all those years ago
When you gave us a miracle

Am I too late for a miracle?

Were the original investigators so clueless that they never tried to match the prints to the actual shoes in 1982?

It does seem that the investigators were inept.  Living in Rochester like I do, I suspect they doubted an economist with a sterling record working for Kodak would do such a violent crime.  Kodak RULED Rochester back then.

So they spent their efforts looking for another suspect.

I had read in local media a few years ago that Kathy had found out about the fake PhD and confronted him the day before her death.

Some like Coolidge are big names and may not have wanted to do more seasons.

Why wouldn't they?  Look where they film:  the FOUR SEASONS in Hawaii and Sicily!  Beats a soundstage in Queens.  And next season, it appears to be a luxury resort in the South Pacific.

And there are only 6 or 7 episodes and you don't have to carry the entire show.

That would seem to be an ideal situation for any actor.

I'm honestly surprised that Tanith chose to step away from commentating in favor coaching, if that is in fact what she did. It seemed like being a commentator was her main career goal. Maybe being able to be closer to her family made more sense for her.

I am too.  But coaches travel just as much, if not more, than commentators.  Nowadays some commenting is done remotely.

I'm annoyed, though, that NBC couldn't find a US commentator.  Weaver's voice is soft and flat and her comments border on the obvious. She adds nothing.

This week they have extensive coverage because it's in the US. They barely cover the others...

Peacock has been awesome, but I’ve heard they’re only doing live this year and no replays.

I was able to click on the Skate America event icons on Peacock and tap the My Stuff button, which is like a DVR!  So those events SHOULD be in my personal file....

Gracie Gold is skating in Skate America. I hope she skates like she did her short program in Nashville, which was lovely.

She TOTALLY needs to skate to "Waiting on a Miracle" from Encanto for her long program.  (Check it out on youtube)

Is it a good idea to sign up for Peacock? They have a special starting tomorrow: $1.99/month or $19.99 for a whole year. I'm asking around the sites if Peacock will show the GPs, Nationals & Worlds, along with regular NBC.

I was so resistant to getting it but I've had it for about two years now and my husband and I really like the sports coverage for the most part.

I've heard that Peacock will only show skating events live and won't have replays available.

No it isn't the Animal Planet.  It's Dr. Phil. If he's going to get rescue organizations for the dogs, then rescue the other abused animals too. What's wrong with that?

He did.  He just didn't mention it on TV because it's a 40-minute show.  Are you familiar with editing?

Not one word about rescuing the cats (shown living in cat carriers). No mention of rescuing the sheep (?) living in a small 4x4 cage. No mention of rescuing the snakes that are living in small glass containers.

Oh, come on.  The dog shelter representative may have been the person most available at the time.  This isn't Animal Planet.

The Godfather is one of the best-selling books in US history. Why was it such an ordeal to make a movie out of it? Maybe because the producers were incompetent idiots?

It's pretty much explained in The Offer:  Italian American organizations protested that it was stereotypical, Frank Sinatra thought the character of Johnny Fontaine was based on him and was furious, Paramount was going broke and had the movie on a tight budget which upset Coppola, the studio wanted Robert Redford to play Michael Corleone and thought Al Pacino had no charisma, they forced Coppola to hire James Caan for Sonny, everybody worried that Marlon Brando would walk off the set at any minute.

    I'm finding the series FASCINATING.

But another thing I found disturbing?  The ambition to make a living by getting others to pay to observe your life.  If you do that, can you ever have a real life?  Are you living for yourself or your audience?

When you're young and free, I think it's just a way to make quick money for the rest of your life--pay college debts, buy a house etc. I think it's fun.  I think it's difficult to extricate yourself from it, though--look at all those "real housewives." But actors and athletes do it--many successfully. And many not.

Why, she bought expensive makeup.  It just slid off that plastic face.
