I didn’t think this season was as terrible as I’ve seen it ranked. I’ve been going through all the seasons (and since season 9 they’ve all been new to me) and maybe I was just so relieved at not having Russell on my screen FINALLY that it did not seem so bad. No problem with Fabio as a winner. Jane is tough and I liked her. I liked Dan, too, despite myself.

Well, that wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. I’m watching my way through and everything post season 8 has been a first time watch for me. All I knew was that Russell was generally despised. Once the merge hit, I was impressed how the Foa Foa stuck together and dismantled the dysfunctional Galu. Russell irritated the crap out of me the first few episodes, then when he voted out Liz, then the last episode when he kept antagonizing Natalie and Mick about FTC. I’m still not entirely convinced Brett was actually there the whole time. Did he even speak five words before his IC run? I like Jaison. Mick was pretty. Natalie was a worthy winner. I thought Erik’s FTC speech was going to be Fiji Alex levels of annoying, but it actually turned out pretty darn good!

Just finished this season and I dunno, it just didn’t do it for me. I kept seeing how high it was ranked and maybe I was just expecting too much. Part of it is I found 3 of the F4 utterly annoying (and Cirie is just okay, I did not like her nearly as much here as I did the first go-round). I just felt there was too much ‘mean girl’ crap going on and that’s not fun to watch. Penner being evacuated for medical reasons was a disappointing end for him. I never cried watching Survivor before! I think my interest in the season died when he left.

I agree that Jonathan isn’t really a villain. I feel like they tried to edit him that way, but I agree the truly loathsome people were Adam, Parvati, and Candice. Jonathan was a super smart guy who got the game. A likable Richard Hatch.

I started rewatching Survivor from season 1. All Stars was the last season I watched in real time, so since then they’ve all been new to me, though I’ve recognized a name here and there. This was one of the most enjoyable seasons so far of this show. It was gratifying to watch the Aitu 4 deft the odds—I liked each one of them and Yul and Ozzy were both a joy to watch because of their intellect (and they were easy on the eyes, too). Watching Candice get repeatedly sent to Exile Island made me giggle and Jonathan was a good “villain” because he wasn’t actually a loathsome person. Cao Boi was also one of my favorite contestants ever.

Just finished watching this season. I was not a fan of Twila but my God, scout was right about the others being so damn self righteous in their criticism of her ‘swearing on her son’ controversy. What was the big deal? Have these people not watched Survivor before? I liked Chris and thought he deserved the win. The whole thing with Julie at FTC was weird. I assume most of this “strong bond” they had was edited out because I honestly don’t even recall seeing them talk to each other in any meaningful way until the volcano trip.

I was reading a transcript of one of Rob’s podcast episodes with Amazon alumni. He said on there a lot of the ‘crazy Matt’ thing was edited to make it look more over the top than it was. He’s just so fascinating to me...the fact that he speaks Mandarin, the complete lack of understanding of the game, his unique looks...I just love him.

Rewatching now. Matt is one of my favorite contestants ever. There’s just something about him, he’s an enigma. i have no time for Jenna or Heidi. Ugh

Just finished rewatching this season. I liked Brian when I watched and never got the hate. Now I’m learning for the first time ever about the puppy incident uugghhh what a despicable person.

Heather was all the way back in season 2. The only thing of hers that really sticks out to me was the lion fish she made for the underwater challenge. She was eliminated on the aging triplets challenge.

Adolfo was one half the partnership that did Miss Humpty Dumpty, one of my favorite Face Off makeups. I am enjoying this show. I have missed the foundation challenges.

Other than Lilith, I felt Frasier was best with Faye. I also liked Leslie the dermatologist. Wish they would have kept her for more than one episode. Claire was fine, too.

Adam is probably my favorite Face Off contestant ever. Please don't scare me like that again, dearest.

It's funny, when Eugene stayed behind in the RV, I started crying. I so feared he would die. I never thought I'd be upset about Eugene dying. After hearing Negan ramble on for what felt like 3 hours, I just wanted him to pick a victim already. Now? I honest to God don't give a rat's behind who we lost. I have never been so pissed off by a cliffhanger.

I don't even care who died now. LAME.
