  1. Past hour
  2. I haven't seen it to that degree, AR wasn't like Survivor with alliances. That started later than season 1.
  3. Premiere date: April 18, 2024
  4. Maybe if Larry is still in good health and feeling restless, there will be a special or two in a few years.
  5. It seems the mission Toranaga gave Mariko was to martyr herself. Force Ishido to let her go or to kill her. Ishido was never going to let her go so he sent in Shinobi. So they must really believe in the after life, to give up life so easily for their lord, like the guards whom Mariko casually sent to their deaths or the first two guards for Ishido, asking for permits knowing they were going to get their throats cut. So the Catholic influence, even though the after life is a big part of their belief system as well, is to disapprove of suicide. Yet the Catholic Regents are willing to kill casually as well and while they are aghast that Mariko is going to going to take her own life. So why has Mariko been anguished all her life about the death of her family or Ochiba holding a grudge about her father? Aren't they suppose to have a more zen view of life and death? Isn't the glorious after life going to make everything better?
  6. Leaving aside the big stuff for now I just want to say Charlie is stupid. He ran off and told Tiffany that he and Maria know about Tiff's idol?!?! Doesn't he know that now Tiffany will want to get him and especially his ride or die (Maria) out as soon as possible to protect herself and her secret?
  7. I've only watched part one so far, so presumably the documentary gets into this, but the biggest problem is not how NASA handled or mishandled things following this launch, knowing the specifics of what they knew about this particular foam strike. That is obviously a big part of the conversation, but, like with the known o-ring issue that ultimately destroyed Challenger, the biggest problem is that NASA knew of the potential for catastrophic (which is what they use to describe total loss of shuttle and crew) damage as a result of "shedding" foam, and had in fact seen numerous non-catastrophic instances of damage from foam breaking loose from this particular area of the tank on previous flights, yet overrode their own safety rules in continuing to launch anyway with foam that so easily broke free, reclassifying it it as an acceptable risk because the worst case scenario hadn't (yet) happened.
  8. Yes, it alwats has been allowed and smart teams use it. Well they have made it through half of this season and any number of teams have been eliminated so far but not them so yeah I'd say Mom is competitive. She was hot and nearly passed out because the race car was super hot as blazes strapped inside it. A number of them commented on that. No, I think it should be applauded. It always has been an option since Season 1 and always should be. Like they said this episode. Run your own race but sometimes that means running together helping one another. I think it is awesome. I LOVE when teams do that. To me it puts the AMAZING in what would other wise be just another generic race. Both comradeship and strategy cranks this race above all others and these two elements have always been there since day one. At what time? This has been allowed for people doing Roadblocks since Season 1. A partner cannot help their team member other than hold drinks and such for them. But fellow Roadblockers can work together and always have. Remember Drew helping Emily running around the Roman coliseum at El Gem back in Season 1? That was both so sweet and cool when they worked together on that Roadblock. I loved that episode.
  9. I was wondering if the supper club is in lieu of Restaurant Wars; very similar premise in terms of two teams and number of courses. I hope so, because if these cheftestants can't handle supper club, no way will they manage Restaurant Wars. Aside from dealing with a budget, they don't seem inclined to do well with following leadership like front of house and expediter. Or for some, cooking well.
  10. Apparently not. I remember googling this when it happened to me a few years back. It's supposed to be against the law in the US to discriminate based on age but not ask that question on a job application. A quick search turned up this very interesting article on the subject from AARP: https://www.aarp.org/work/job-search/employers-age-job-applications/ Since I applied for a job, as of 2021 my state (Connecticut) has actually banned asking for birthdate on job applications as well as dates of graduation and that article says it might encourage other states to follow suit. They also said that CT has the 6th oldest employment population in the country. It doesn't seem to stop employers from avoiding older employees, though. I don't know if banning these questions is going to help much. Employers will just resort to other methods to determine your general age bracket. But it's at least a step in the right direction.
  11. I think Jesse is softer than he wants to look, he wants to be this hard as nails person. Sex is important in a relationship, just ask the person who isn't having any. That's Jesse imho. I liked Michelle, I don't think shed be a delight to live with. Unhappy couples , make me sad to watch sometimes. Jax and Brittany aren't going to last, they are more like brother and sister. I don't know why Britt has to drink so much, that she throws up, blacks out. That isn't fun after awhile, surely. Has Michelle texted photos to someone? I thought it was said in the previews. If Luke knows something, it has to have come from the empath herself. Kristen is delusional.
  12. So Charly leaves saying he was proud of sticking to his heritage and flavours, right after being told he hadn't been true to his heritage and flavours (or words to that effect). Okay then.
  13. Maggie and OA are in pursuit. "There's too many people around. This could go sideways really fast. Let's just get closer before we arrest him," Maggie says. What! Here in FBI-land, we yell, "FBI! Freeze!" when 200+ feet away from the suspect, allowing almost 100% certainty that the suspect will escape. This writer must be new. Like, new-new. Tiff acknowledges she needs professional help after last week's total meltdown of appropriate FBI conduct. So that's something. Although I'm not sure she would have gotten help after the blown op itself, or if she only did because of the unpleasantness with the wife of her obvious best friend in the world, Hobbs. I like the reality of Scola and Nina's New York home, i.e. that it's cozy and small. They are dressing Maggie like Missy might be pregnant again? I don't mean that as a negative comment on her appearance at all. I think she looks great and I've gotten past the hump of accepting her bangs. It's just the telltale baggier button-ups.
  14. I loose pens in addition but now have a rescue dog who finds them and chews them to bits. Can’t count the times this ole lady has to get on the floor with my flashlight to see what he’s chewing under the bed. I’ve had to move so many times in the last few years and with all the packing and unpacking I started carrying one of my late husbands large collection of Swiss knives in my front pants pocket. He always had a mechanical pencil and pen in his shirt pocket when I first meet him.
  15. Jelinsky. Bhanu. Q. This cast is a relay team of exhausting people.
  16. Because JG doesn't know how to gradually phase in new characters without overexposing them. Case in point Audra, and now Jordan(NuHarrison will likely follow as they bothered to recast for a reason). At least Audra was entertaining after a while....not to me 100% but meh I'm in the minority. But still, overexposure is overexposure at the end of the day imo. Even if the audience likes a character, they don't need to see them everyday for weeks on end. Certainly not with this dumpster fire writing. Same here. I think if after she & Kyle broke up and she completely forgot about the kid when he grew attached to her she would be seen as a shitty (ex)stepmom for up and ditching him. Or at least that's how I'd see her. And not for nothing, Kyle more or less stole Harrison from Ashland after the DNA test came back. He wasn't in Harrison's life before that. But if Ashland came back from the dead tomorrow, I highly doubt Kyle would be expected to hand Harrison over to his original father or defer to him at all in terms of parenting. Brilliant on all other points as well, even if Harrison was her own flesh & blood, her acting like his kidnapping is only effecting her would still be fucking annoying. Dummer maybe if you told your mother to go fuck herself after she returned from the dead you'd be around Harrison more in the first place. More to that point, if the writers wanted to force a "sympathetic" Dummer on us, then this would be the time for her to lash out on her mother(and herself)for bringing bad karma on her, and the kid. Instead lashing out on Kyle, and everyone else. Then maybe we could be bothered to give a shit.
  17. This season proves to me that, much like the rest of American film and TV, the on-screen talent should be pulled from the U.K. and Australia. Fuck...this cast suuuuuuucks. Well, tbf, I guess I don't hate a few of them, but man, the bad ones are so fugging bad. Bhanu vs. Q in the cage match of Survivor Suck. We'd all lose having to watch that. I can't even bother to gather my thoughts beyond that. It's not worth the effort for this shit show.
  18. I have no problem with that one (if she didn't lie during their later discussion when she was significantly under on her estimate of how much her ingredients cost - which I'll grant given how it was presented - she still didn't properly consider the budget and her part in it while selecting ingredients or at the cash register, and not getting it until Tom made it explicit that she didn't think about the budget limitations when deciding to make a two-part dessert and, regardless, do one thing great instead of two things okay, on the other hand ...) -- Kristen didn't say they had to take whatever recipe card they first picked up, she just said something along the lines of you don't have to shuffle through, just take one, at which W. Kamau Bell laughed and said well, shuffle a little, or similar. And I laughed too, because of course; if it's such a loosey goosey thing like that, with no clear rule that we're going in this order and Chef 1 is assigned Card 1 and so on, yeah, take a look at the next card if the first is a recipe you'd rather not make.
  19. A friend once invited a bunch of us over for coffee (not unusual). After half an hour or so she suddenly pulled out some overpriced makeup and started selling it. I walked out. I couldn't believe how deceptive she had been about it. Why did you feel like you had to buy something?
  20. Excellent question. I'm personally sick of Sloan's skimpy bathrobe dresses in winter. We get it - she's thin! She's sexy! She's also a lawyer looking for clients and a Mom and newly married! ...though I did like the 80s shoulderpads on her court blazer last week.
  21. I'm trying to figure out how the powerful mob boss will spin it to Tiffany that he not only was plotting to take her out, but also told them that she had an immunity idol. I feel like it's 50/50 that he'll either try to make it not sound so bad or flat-out say that Tiffany wasn't doing what he told her to do and was trying to get Maria out, so she had to go for turning on the 6 (an alliance I could argue she was forced into by Q). I thought it was very telling that more people didn't sit out for rice. Venus made sense not to, and I could argue that Hunter likes the competition so he'd want to compete. Ben might have felt vulnerable. And I know Charlie was kind of shaky about 6 alliance and his place in the game. But between Kenzie, Maria, Tiffany, and Tevin, I'm surprised two more didn't bother to sit out. So were those 4 just wanting to compete or afraid sitting out would make them look overconfident or did they not trust the people they were aligned with?
  22. I haven’t watched the whole program yet but found Cameron heart story fishy. He said most people can respond to medication but he was going to have surgery as he’s sitting in the car at the hospital? I have a heart condition diagnosed about my late 20s. When my tachycardia went on for several hours my mother and RN made my ex take me to ER. I was given a injection that brought my heart back into rhythm. The injection made me feel like my heart was stopping or I was fainting but instantly back in rhythm after hours to exhaustion. Mine is a defect ,a leak and I’ve been on different meds for it but not a tranquilizer that he made it sound like he was at his maximum that he could take. Is he showing an EKG showing his heart coming to a stop and paddles being used? BS. This is the most toned down attire Michaels has worn. According to this cast the show should throw in the towel.
  23. The editor don’t like Laura. And I don’t like that she wasn’t asked to put back the $$$ ingredient for her second dessert—you’re screwing a teammate, yo. Not a winner’s edit (no matter how many times Tom insists the cheffies make sure they’re the last one standing. Congrats, Dan and thanks to your teammates for their support. Kevin from France has a female fiancé (girlfriend.), so last week, when he and Manny said they were the bottom brothers, guess they meant in the standings. Kristin’s wardrobe tonight needed help. She doesn’t need to emulate Padma, but let’s speak to the stylist.
  24. I hate Leo. I think under different circumstances I could enjoy this type of character, but I really don't. He's an awful person no matter how you look at him, rattling off indulgent dialogue constantly and yet still being tolerated by people who should want him to shut up and go away. And somehow, he's the only gay representation this show still has? Seriously? How did that happen? Even the Fairy Godfather joke he keeps making is awful. He's wedged into stories he has no place being in.
  25. Today
  26. S05•E09 - The Return Again this week, FBI MW has a better case than the other 2 shows - art heist, repatriation, war criminal, non preachy cultural & racial issues. For an educated person, Alicia is really stupid. She foolishly trusts Bankole and is easily smitten with Adisa. Background checks and DNA test be damned. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t really care about Ray/Cora relationship stuff, it’s boring. But it’s nice seeing Ray Sr. again. When confronting Bankole and while aiming his gun at him, Ray has tears in his eyes. Why? Is it rage? 🤔
  27. I finally figured out who Danny reminds me of — it’s been driving me crazy! Did anyone watch Monk? Danny reminds me of a younger version of Monk’s eager, annoying neighbor Kevin Dorfman. They have similar mannerisms and talk / smile the same way.
