  1. Past hour
  2. That happened to me a few times in the last 6 months or so on the tube of you. So now, if that's my only option,* I hit the pause button as soon as they even get to FJ. Then I open up the j-archive.com page for that game, set a timer for 30 seconds, read the clue, and hit the timer. _________ * I don't know why I don't just follow @Bastet's example when I have to miss a game:
  3. The actor who plays Trevor theoirzed as much last season when commenting on the coupling up that was going on among the ghosts :p. But honestly, I personally think this is not the first time any of these ghosts have either hooked up or at least considered hooking up with each other. They've all been here for a long (VERY long, in some cases) time, that's a lot of centuries/decades to go by without showing much, if any, romantic interest in anyone else. Especially given how lonely and ioslated they were for much of that time - if nothing else, I can buy that they'd seek each other out for some companionship, if not because of any romantic feelings. As for Thor/Flower, I think they manage to both balance each other out and have a few notable things in common. He's more aggressive where she's more chill, they've both had dark aspects of their respective pasts (he pillaged villages, she was in a cult), they both have experience with being separated from their families (Thor when he sailed to America, Flower when she became estranged from her family due to her time in the cult), they bonded over their shared history with loss last season - she lost Michael, and we learned this season about Thor having lost other romantic partners he'd had in the past, with Louella and Flat Maria. For all their belief that they don't have much in common, they actually share a lot more than I think even they fully realize. Eh, not necessarily. The show could just as easily end with everyone's lives/afterlives continuing on like normal, we just won't be able to pop in and see what they're up to each week anymore. That and (spoilering this in regards to the British version): I honestly don't know if we'll ever fully find out just what it is that's keeping all these ghosts here, and I don't think we can be certain that any new deveopments, be they romantic or resolving some long-standing issue or whatever, will be the magic key that allows them to move on. I've said before that I think it's a combination of a lot of factors that are keeping them here. And frankly, I think the only way we'll ever actually potentially lose any of these ghosts for good is either if they do go that route of having them all sucked off in the series finale, or if one of the actors were to choose to leave for one reason or another. Barring that, I think everyone's here to stay. And I'm totally fine with that. I don't want to lose any of these characters, be they main or recurring.
  4. I agree. And I still have no idea who she is.
  5. Toranaga's goal is to become Shogun. You don't go to all of the effort Toranaga has done to become Shogun and then turnover power to someone else's son. So his goal to overthrow the revenge and the heir. As for Mariko, it's odd that she's seeking redemption for her and possibly her family while at the same time she's sleeping with Blackthorne in a castle controlled by Ishido. She has no idea who will see them together and what they'll do in response.
  6. Seeing murderous Jordan hovering over Harrison on the bed gave me the creeps. I think TPTB should've rethought the staging of those motel room scenes. I feel so dumb. In my mind, Southern belles drank mint juleps, not tequila. Ashley's new alter is already teaching me new things! 😉 Belle Ashley needs to work on her sashay though. It should be more natural, like she's been doing it since puberty, tee hee. Stop acting brand new, Traci. You know darned well your big sis was ready to be 5150'd two alters ago. Ease up on the mother hen stuff. If the average person's stepchild had been kidnapped by a psycho would they be sitting around in a coffeehouse weeping and pouting? Summer wanting her brother's comfort seemed logical to me but why do it in public? MTS working hard on that Emmy reel with Nikki's angry soliloquies. I ain't mad at her. Traci wants Ashley's therapist friend in Paris to make a housecall across an ocean. Seriously? What about his other patients? Guess they'll just be SOL because the Abbotts can throw more money at him. "Femme Magique." Eh, that perfume name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, Southern belle Ashley. You better have Jabot's marketing department come up a catchier one. Hey, someone who shall remain nameless appeared to have applied a fresh coat of Kiwi to their hair! 😼 Finally! Harrison is rescued and Jordan is gets to take a little nap until she slips from custody again. Meanwhile, where is Claire?
  7. My biggest anticipation for this Part 2 was all the fun reviews and memes it would generate. Still waiting for the 'Pitch Meeting' treatment. One reviewer said that a positive outcome was that in our troubled times Rebel Moon Part 2 could at least bring people together: to agree on how lame it was. I could list dozens of things that were ridiculous. I will add this one: Apparently there is an unwritten rule that once a hero character pulls out a glowing sword, all attacking soldiers must also engage in swordplay, no guns allowed. And the shirtless Griffin warrior guy only fought with axes. And it wasn't exactly a rebel moon was it? It was a rebellious village of a few hundred people on a moon named Veldt. It seems, to me, that considering Rebel Moon's reception, the likelihood of additional movies or even 'Snyder cuts' of these would be greenlighted. Netflix did not seem to put much promotion behind Part 2.
  8. The only thing I'd add to @Notabug summary is that Mae was originally in line to be adopted by a Chinese family in the UK, but one of the prospective parents was taken ill and Mae was going to be left in the orphanage indefinitely with no guarantee that the placement would ever happen. (in real life, apparently the reason Mae was added to the Turner family was so that the actress playing Angela would have somebody her own age on set to spend time with)
  9. The jungle is supposed to be full of those quasi -tigers... how fortunate that only one was interested in fresh meat... Was Batcher dropped off somewhere else?
  10. I like that commercial. It's so throw back before helicoptering. I used to come home with all sorts of scrapes.
  11. I think in regards to being comic-accurate & pleasing the fans, it's important to get the character right, but not so much the stories. Like how Robert Downey Jr. was basically "Iron Man jumped off the page into movies". Or how Chris Evans embodied Captain America. It's much less important that the whole Infinity Gauntlet movie arc, or the Civil War storyline, didn't follow the comics. But the characters involved were portrayed accurately, both in resemblance & personality. I know this is the Marvel thread, but as a personal example, I had no interest in The Flash once I saw their portrayal of Supergirl in the trailers (I know there are many problems with that movie, but just to focus on my point). I have several action figures of Supergirl. I have many Supergirl comics. I am a huge fan of Supergirl. My brother got me a Cameo from Laura Vandervoort, the Supergirl actress from Smallville, for my birthday one year! But they didn't get the look, much less the personality, of Supergirl right in that movie, so I had no interest - active disinterest even. Because they didn't accurately portray Supergirl correctly. Basically, if the character is done right, looks comics-accurate, carries the persona... that's all comics fans are looking for. And comics fans are the ones who recommend movies/shows to their non-comics friends & family, which can really help spread interest.
  12. JKJ as Phil was 22 playing 15 in 99. The other main four were either really teenagers Kirsten and Farah both being 15 or on the edge of ending their teenage years Jason and Nadia who were both 19
  13. As Blackthorne is returning to the Ajiro from Osaka, he sees his burnt ship. Upon landing, Tonomoto Akinao, the spy, the explains that enemies, thought to be Christian, are responsible. As he walks through the village, Blackthorne sees several severed heads and a samurai beating up on a villager. Tonomoto Akinao, says Toranaga ordered it and there will be no rest in the village until they discover who aided the Christian raiders. Toranaga admits later to Yabushige that he, Toranaga was responsible for torching Blackthorne's ship. Toranaga doesn't need to justify torching Blackthorne's ship to any Japanese people, and Toranaga told Yabushige that Blackthorne wasn't important to keep alive. So there's no need to engage in the pantomime of offing a bunch of villagers as part of some ruse.
  14. Not to mention the characters support the Chicago sports teams like the Bulls, Bears, and Cubs which are referenced.
  15. Yeah, Ben knew he was screwed (heh) whichever person he chose, so he shouldn't have chosen anyone. Regarding the bacon, we've seen chefs get off the boat and go into grocery stores on the island - Anthony could have tried to get a fakin' bacon that way.
  16. The stream I watched removed the counting music so I didn't even have time to finish reading the question before answers were revealed.
  17. I'm also assuming that UK readers can still order editions from other countries. I've bought UK editions of books before from Amazon and had them shipped to me in the US. (Mainly if the book is released there first because I have no patience or chill when I really want to read something. LOL)
  18. Blackthorne must be an ancestor of Brad Pitt...
  19. I don't blame her even if she took the part because she thought it was funny. I think it's hilarious.
  20. I saw that happen here. There were posters I had seen for years and thought very highly of them. Until I saw their posts on a particular thread. They either were not the people I thought they were or they were simply joining in with the majority of posters who were not nice people.
  21. I thought they were a little older. How old is Honeybee then? I'd still like this fictional person to get a little help.
  22. There were a couple of TWoP forums I avoided after awhile. The one I remember best was Angel where the mod hated Wesley so you'd better, too, if you were going to post there. I witnessed a poster getting banned solely for asking another (Wesley neutral) poster to explain why they'd said something negative about the character--a specific remark not a general Wesley sucks post--like what is the part of the episode you mean, what action. I was also snarked at once by a mod and it made me see red because of course if I replied in kind I would've been banned.
