  2. It's been proven before, but one more time: there's money to be made in diversifying films: 'Hollywood Forfeits Up to $30B Every Year Because of Racial Inequity' excerpts: Direct link to the report: https://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/diversity-and-inclusion/from-margins-to-mainstream-asians-and-pacific-islanders-in-hollywood
  3. Good leg. Even with Ricky & Cesar making the top two yet again, I don't think there's an overwhelming favorite to win. Well, except for Yvonne & Melissa, who seem under-served by the editing. Welding! Nice to see Racers take shop class. Also funny to see those not participating in the Roadblock wearing the protective gear and eye shields, even though they weren't near the action. Detour would have been a nightmare for me. I don't think I'm capable of maintaining a constant rhythm, and I don't speak Spanish, let alone sing it. Bless the Girlfriends' hearts for trying their best at singing. I guess they don't go to karaoke often. I felt the other singers were getting annoyed that they had to keep performing while they kept screwing up. Amber & Vinny . . . I really hope they have split up by now. I don't think a million bucks would be enough to keep them together. He's just so damn pushy, and I just want to pull that long hair from his head in a violent manner. Sunny & Bizzy . . . they ran out of other teams to outlast. I figured Yvonne & Melissa's singing would have let the Firefighters dodge elimination yet again, but it wasn't mean to be. Oh, and Angie & Danny wound up in second place. Here's hoping they don't feel the urge to help other teams. I'm willing to bet that they thought the teams would be leaving in a 2-3-2 pattern instead of 2-2-3, where they were stuck with the Girlfriends & Firefighters.
  4. Oh goodie, another challenge where they see who can balance the longest on a tiny platform. I can remember the last time I was this sick of a single player. It was only a few weeks ago.... Bhanu. And before Bhanu, I was rooting for Jalinsky to go home. This season won't make me stop watching, but there is a very good chance I will remember it as the season where I spent every tribal council actively rooting for a particular player to go home so I don't have to see them one more week.
  5. What fresh hell was that bullshit? Hunter, my man....you are a dope. I mean, come on! Why in hell would you tell anyone about your idol. Play it at TC! Maybe have some damn control. You're nervous AF, teetering on paranoid; you have salvation literally in your pocket, and....you leave with it in said pocket. GTFOH...yikes. Bunch of morons in this cast. I also get that one has to be a a bit narcissistic to be on one of these shows, but the delusions of grandeur! My god! Venus and Liz think every move is their move; Q might literally be insane; Ben assumes he'll start winning challenges when Hunter is out; zero evidence of that to date. Speaking of him....Q remains, and he is at Bhanu levels of yuck for me, so like some others, I will struggle to consume the rest of this season.
  6. I find Alex irritating since the service challenge. The way she kept saying to Lily that their pavlova plating is sexy… UGH. 🙄
  7. Like I said, Supergirl does not have to be a blonde white woman to be portrayed accurately on film. She can be a dark-haired Latina or anything else and still be Supergirl. There's much more to an accurate portrayal than a character's appearance and/or ethnicity. Pre-crisis Kara maybe. But post-crisis, Supergirl has often been portrayed as troubled, both emotionally and psychologically. Her background and life circumstances shaped her in ways that set her apart from Superman. The optimism is not always there. Even if it were true, that still wouldn't automatically rule out The Flash being an accurate portrayal of Supergirl. There are many different components to the nature of any one character.
  8. I can't imagine the difficulty of trying to raise good kids among peers who glorify violence, gangs, the mafia, etc. It's so repugnant. And stupid. The drip-drip-drip pace of this series is annoying. I like it a lot, but I want to watch it at my leisure, not Hulu's.
  9. Fawn and Finn. Gretel and Greyson. And of course there is always Friedrich, Kurt, Liesl and Louisa. 🌄🎵
  10. Yep, I'd be okay with a recast Olivia. Malcolm is another story though because the last time TPTB recast him I thought it was a disaster on multiple fronts. IMO Shemar owns the role of Malcolm. He can always make guest appearances on Y&R until CBS decides to stop playing whatever shell game they have going on with the S.W.A.T. show. When I read this forum I usually start at the latest post and work backward until I get to one I've seen already. So, whew chile, to get hit right off the bat with the image of that gorgeous man was quite a delightful shock. Shemar's genes remain undefeated even now when he's in his early 50s.
  11. Damn, the bandwagon's getting lighter. I guess that for all the puzzles and devices Hunter made, he didn't study for Paranoia 301. He should have played the idol. I'm disappointed in him. Anyone else thinking Tiffany is going out with her idol in pocket? It seems to be that sort of season. At this point, why the fuck not?!? After Gabler and Yam Yam, why shouldn't a would-be goat and body shield make it to Day 26 (or whenever) and win despite no one able able to stand her for episodes at a time? Who else should win? Charlie? Ben? Boring. Maybe Liz would be a longer shot, but I don't think she'd make it to the end. Also, I bet she's allergic to checks with seven figures. I don't like Probst the fanboy with the front seat to the dramatics. The only way that would have worked with me is if the popcorn bowl was a hidden idol. Once again . . . why not? Someone looks down, sees "HII" inscribed on the bottom, and silently pockets it.
  12. Thursday's episode will be Season 21, Episode 30, that was originally aired October 13, 2017. Discussion Link: "Dog Fight Fiasco" Case titles: 1) A Doggie Dust Up; 2) Refusing To Give A Refund; 3) Tripping Out On A Tran-ny. Google's title case summary: "A man claims a woman's unleashed dog began fighting with his dog, which led to ligament damage. She says the two dogs never had any contact." Warning #1 - Case 1 is another dog attack case. Warning #2 - NYGirl wrote the following: "Today's cases were so boring."
  13. Jasmine was completely justified in her vote. Jasmine what was best for her game. She voted in competitors that she believes she can’t beat, and one them went home. That’s good for Jasmine. Cara burned her vote and played the middle and an ally asked for a favor. Now, she’s mad that someone she considers an ally doesn’t do her a favor. Jasmine was always the stepping stone to advance someone else’s game. In addition to not being the most skilled person in these challenges, she usually gets the short end of the stick through sheer bad luck. Jasmine often got tied to people who also weren’t good at these challenges. Also, she was always someone’s sacrificial lamb. In this episode, she has a little bit of power and I’m glad she took the shot. It was starting to look like these women were just going to let Rachel and Cara skate by.
  14. Hi everyone, please remember that the forum-wide spoiler policy applies. Any speculation that's made based on source material as well as any comparison with the source material is considered a spoiler and should be spoiler-tagged or taken to a separate thread. Thank you and happy posting.
  15. I wonder what the trick to the welding was. Not gonna miss the firefighters. I wonder if they live by "Those who wander are not lost"? Amber and Vinny, geeze. Stop already. Also, is knowing how to read a map that lost a skill?
  16. Oh damn. I felt bad for Jupiter when he turned out to be innocent and actually a really nice guy. I have really mixed feelings about how the show is treating the blindness. It's basically saying that independence is stupid and that Tess should not bother to learn how to do anything without Sunny. It's kind of like they're trying to have the blindness as a hook but write her as a sighted person. I thought it was a bit creepy that SUnny bought Tess the same jumper she herself was wearing.
  17. Ugh! Dammit Hunter why did you have to fuck up like that!? This season sucks.
  18. I really liked these episodes. The show is better with ghosts actively participating! I have been losing interest but this finale made me really hope for a renewal, even though it seems they set it up to also work as a series ending. I would not have guessed that Duncan would be the first to find out about nell's secret and I also would not have guessed that he'd be nicer as a ghost than as a living person. His desire to help nell get a job came out of newhere.
  19. I'm glad Tiffany didn't go home, either, and that she still has her idol. But now I'm super nervous for her. She said tonight she was going to play it to get rid of it, but didn't, and now people might be willing to just call her bluff and write her name down. They can split the vote if needed, but everyone but Venus, Liz, and Q were part of that plan tonight before it all changed. This season ranks low for me as I mentioned above. I guess in thinking about it it's better than S43 and 41, though I don't know if it surpasses 44 and 45 for me. And I can't even say I liked those seasons that much, but they were good for the new era I guess. So 46 will probably end up in the middle when it's all said and done. But it is a chaotic mess that makes me wonder what's going to happen next. I find the cast kind of meh overall, but how they all pretty much consider themselves the greatest gamers to ever game this game is low-key hilarious, since some of them lack the self-awareness of how terrible they really are (Venus, Liz), one just threw in the towel when he realized he wasn't in control anymore (Q), some are battling for resume moves (Maria, Kenzie), Ben's just kind of there like a polite tourist, and you got Charlie and Tiffany in the middle who I actually think are playing pretty well, but I'm intrigued where they stand and what their next moves are. I'm kind of impressed with Charlie, I think he comes across as very non-threatening, but he's managed to keep a cool head when he's in trouble, and it seems like heis a middle man for a lot of people. Watching tonight I feel like he's got a much better grasp on the game than I thought. And I did enjoy the little smiles he was giving Hunter during the IC when Hunter was struggling. And I don't really want another TC dominated by Q being a sourpuss, but I am glad he didn't get his way last week of having them vote him off (Kenzie's right that if he wants to leave just leave) and that no one was taking him seriously this week and giving it right back to him when he tried changing the narrative of events. But the past 2 TC have definitely been something I wasn't expecting, so there's that. So I guess I can't call this season boring.
  20. Thanks for the update on the Whites. It was coming back to me in bits and pieces. 😃
  21. My spouse said that! We were also ready with Pony Express, Titanic, the Orient Express, bullet trains and the Orphan Train. 🤣
  22. Is anyone keeping track of people thru out the seasons that got voted out with an idol in there pocket?
  23. Today
  24. I’ll Venmo anybody here 27 cents if you can explain the fucking plot. Here’s my take: this whole series was a great argument for the patriarchy. Now: go! & watch the real thing: Rosemary’s Baby. Mia Farrow’s terrific, and Oscar-winner Ruth Gordon is a creepy hoot. And the movie’s punchline (“He has his Father’s eyes”) is..a gut-punch. Let’s do this again next year!!🤣 Christ I need a drink.
  25. Maybe Pryce will get killed off in the finale.
