  1. Past hour
  2. There's more to it than just biological age. Steve spent years fighting in WWII. Nat spent most of her life in the Black Widow program or running around on SHIELD missions. The new team might not be as far behind biologically but they are light years behind in life experience.
  3. I think the chefs were a little confused by this challenge, but some fun dishes came out of it all the same. That pretzel dessert must have been some dish because it's wild that won. Slowly getting to know the chefs! Still love Manny. He's such a cheerleader for the other chefs, and I love that. Michelle too! I like Amanda a lot as well -- maybe it's the (D&D) game recognizing (D&D) game going on there, but to make a palate cleanser interesting is pretty good work. Gail being all "I know we were crapping on the concept, but whoa" was pretty funny. I think Kevin with an accent is cute, but Manny is cuter, so it's okay if la France doesn't viva very long on the show. The dude who made the pave potatoes is clearly a talented chef, but I wish when he was getting all that praise, he'd shared some of the credit with his team for giving him the inspiration and helping hands. The reverence to Miller High Life does make me laugh, but I'm a snob, so don't mind me. My closest encounter was accidentally getting sprayed with some when a friend was attempting to recreate a Miller High Life mimosa he'd had at a brunch spot. That stuff can fizz! I generally know everyone's name by the time they're two episodes in, so it does bug me a bit that I can't place everyone yet. Some of the younger female chefs especially are blurring together for me, and I don't know why. Still, solid challenges so far, but I hope next episode allows them to solo cook, not be teams or in-group head-to-heads.
  4. Couldn’t the person creating the post edit the first message with a link to post live comments, or the post number of the first post after the show ends?
  5. Yeah, but Dollar General doesn't give points that can be exchanged (maybe) for a cruise or a trip to an island resort, places where you can eat all you want while your children at home go hungry but you can't swim until after dark because others on the trip insist on wearing regular swimwear for swimming instead of something that resembles a nun's habit. Jill's in the Plexus business to get luxuries for herself that she would never have on her own. The money she spends on overpriced products to get this stuff makes no sense, but Jill doesn't make much sense anyway.
  6. And aren't fed healthy and nutritious food. Its grease, burnt and cheap pizza.
  7. Yeah, she was definitely fired and I definitely remember the gleeful headlines that she was let go from another Spelling show. So I finally listened to Shannen's interview with Holly. I was disappointed to hear almost no accountability from either of them, as much as I like Shannen. To hear them tell it, they were worker bees and the only ones who cared about the quality of the show. To hear them tell it, they had some bad days but nothing to cause such a huge dilemma that resulted in Shannen's firing. To me, it's a case of either not remembering, or not wanting to admit, even all these years later, that all three of them behaved heinously. As vague as Alyssa has been about her role in all of this, at least she publicly apologized, and said she played a role in the conflict. I heard none of this from either Shannen or Holly. I don't believe that being late to 90210 or being too dedicated to her work on Charmed were Shannen's biggest flaws. Her firings speak to much more than that. And I like her a lot!

    The Dish With Kish

Another enjoyable little diversion! I like the raw footage feel, and I like that Kristin is finding ways to get Stephanie in there. Stephanie's hat makes me laugh. What's notable about Amar's appearance is how comfortable he and Kristin seem to be together. It's interesting to me that this little reality show has grown up enough that the kids are taking over the family business as it were. I've long heard about the camaraderie of the kitchen. It's funny that this day and age has created the camaraderie of the kitchen reality show. I would happily sample everything they made on this episode!
  9. I think that although the pitch FOX probably bought was the Argentine miniseries of cleaning from the beginning the show runner said she was inspired by Filipino foreign domestic workers. In other words Fiona's story. Being set in America her being TNT, first as a visa overstay and now by crashing the border
  10. I mean, whether it's a dish vs a sampler platter seems like a pretty arbitrary distinction to me. And the reason why I say that is because I've seen it referred to as both with those terms used interchangeably. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandeja_paisa
  11. Apparently my comcast wifi only platinum account (i don’t pay for the appellation) comes with peacock. I just happened to look and did not know. Maybe someone else is equally clueless.
  12. Looks like it might be this: https://shop.pacgourmet.com/products/rice-pearls-for-tempura?variant=43597495959809 A rice cracker but in teeny, tiny bits.
  13. Wow, @Cloud9Shopper, this post seems to indicate you gained a lot of insight and growth from your (Lenten?) break from Reddit. Very inspiring! Now I just need to decide which online addiction I'm going to tank for a while, LOL. NY Times crossword? Wordle? PrimeTimer? Google???? Or maybe TV instead of the Web? 🤔
  14. They're still looking for the person who killed the young men in the barrels? I hope they don't drop it.
  15. Twin Peaks aside …. I loved the reaction to the owls. No one will come near their house ever again, nope, but it is fine, she will be fine. The owl also has an extremely human face. Barn owl? i loved that after Harry made his ‘men ask women out’ speech there was a focus on Darcy holding her fork like she was fighting the urge to stab him with it. I find Darcy a relatable mess, Narcissistic parents and all, and I somehow hope she finds something for herself by the end of the show.
  16. I know that their is a lot of hate for Josh Peck lately but I also feel like I hate that Drake Bell could be in as much pain as I could tell that he's in and feel like he could take advantage of someone else and cause that pain to her. I think Josh also feels like when he got married a cause for celebration and joy Drake automatically made it about him that he wasn't invited.
  17. Chief Bromden isn't really mute; he just pretends to be. The narration is an almost stream-of-consciousness thing, as if it's what's going through his mind as events happen. Within the story, he speaks out loud very little. I got FJ, but I'm not surprised that many people didn't. It was certainly on the obscure side.
  18. I believe that they cool the thin connection to the punty with water so that it hardens and breaks at that point when they knock on the rod.
  19. Classic one-shot guest star Lou Gossett Jr. has passed at 87. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/louis-gossett-jr-dead-officer-and-a-gentleman-roots-948372-1235862761/?fbclid=IwAR3rUomwpNzaz523rjWFV6ivMRJKOCyCAkSAvGAYmQFb4T5ArQSU4zQ2GjI_aem_AZpVlX6NBehBfFaBb9MeSfgXhp2lVwm4PlqPel7R0Ad3YFloSdlaXp81Ee4FHPRKsQ-R2d2X0N2TJYx6xAk2POhz
  20. No. "Le Bon was born in 1986 in Montreal, to Brigitte Paquette and Richard Le Bon.[6] Her mother and her stepfather, Frank Schorpion, are both actors. After studying visual arts, she began modelling at 16 years old[7] and left Canada when she was 19 to model overseas.[8]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_Le_Bon
  21. Emily and Claire looked okay but but nobody needed to see that. Becca didn’t take very flattering photos, I think she wanted to make herself feel better by making them not look their best. The lingerie Becca chose for herself was awful and ill fitting. Poor Lauren also had an unflattering outfit on. For all the folks defending Becca’s photography, she sure didn’t make her subjects look good! There was nothing empowering about looking foolish.
  22. LOL Haleth answered that in the subsequent post four days ago.
  23. They poach the top producers from established local agencies.
  24. I would tell Schmidt he dodged a bullet. Nico's explanation of his current relationship sounded nuts. No one should become a parent because they are desperate to hold onto a nine month old relationship. That is only going to lead to eventual resentment of the kid and the boyfriend.
  25. Yeah, actually it's not funny when your daughter is toppling over due to no fault of her own, but due her dwarfism. One would think that Zach would understand and comfort her, but no, we just laugh. It's (borderline?) child abuse, mentally at least.
