  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure if this where to put this but I'm recuperating from an accident - leg fractures so I can't move much - and watching alot of daytime tv. Been watching alot of Perry Mason and Murder she Wrote on the Great American Family channel ( a channel I don't get at home). I swear every other commercial is about their Christmas movies - they actually have a countdown clock! - and how this will be the greatest season yet for their Christmas movies. If the commerical isn't about the Christmas movies it's about Candice Cameron Bure and her new mystery movies series coming soon.
  3. I didn't actually notice Matty licking his fingers, but I did notice, twice, Tom running a finger thru the sauce on his plate and putting it in his mouth. Which I found kind of charming.
  4. Maybe, but Cara herself is proof that you can be successful in the game without acting entitled. She has two wins to her name and got those wins without acting entitled.
  5. I think this is a great idea. Introduce the dumplings and two main ingredients but not tell them there's going to be a culinary difference and hope everyone eats a different dumpling. It'd all fall apart if everyone accidentally eats the same dumpling. I know you don't care but since it's coming up a lot, he was hired as a chef consultant on The Bear, which is a very popular Hulu show about the workings of a restaurant. He then got asked to appear on camera but he didn't want to play a chef. If people haven't seen The Bear, it's a very intense show when it depicts the inner workings of a kitchen. There's a lot of screaming, yelling, activity, and, yes...chaos. That's why I don't think he was a replacement for someone else. It's pretty clear the challenge was created to thematically align with the tone of the show he's on. I don't understand some of the challenges they've had. I've seen some people blame the Wisconsin tourism board but I don't think that's it. There's no reason they couldn't have come up with a decent challenge for the chefs to serve at Taliesen which was absolutely a unique dining experience. And The Bear is filmed in Chicago so the chaos theme has nothing to do with location. Other challenges, like using cheese, cherries, and beer, should be no-brainers. They're as simple and straightforward as it gets on Top Chef and there's no reason for the lack of creativity. One thing I did like about this challenge is that, instead of shopping at Whole Foods, they had the choice to go to the Asian market or Latin market. I'd like more of that and things like shopping at the Farmer's market.
  6. I'm assuming they're not, given that sad sack interview face Amber had. Run, Amber, run. Sure, she's probably annoying but he's verbally abusive. And they are now the team I want gone asap. Idk about other commenters, but I've found most of them pretty interesting. Not all of them, sure, but that's every Race for me. I'd like to think I'd have done okay with the welding since my dad occasionally welded things in his shop, but probably not. Sure, but he's so, so much worse. And far less good at those things than he thinks. He was also pretty good at the welding, and both he and Angie rocked the drum task. I have decent rhythm and would've probably been good with the drum task, but I'm not sure how my BFF would do. Although she did take tap dancing as a child, so maybe there's some rhythm still in there.
  7. My best guess? Ben goes out 5th (he feels like a fifth place boot), Liz loses to Kenzie in firemaking (I think Maria could win F4 immunity and stupidly bring Charlie, given how much she's about loyalty), and then we have Kenzie winning. I've seen speculation that we could have our first unanimous winner. That could be interesting, but with Charlie in F3, he'd have to have a disastrous F3 performance or he would have to do nothing for the rest of the game. So, if it's not unanimous, I could see a 7-1-0 for Kenzie-Charlie-Maria. I strangely think Liz could get a vote if she was in F3, or her bemoaning about the Tevin move she made being overshadowed by Q is foreshadowing that she gets no credit at the end for what really IS her move. The other option is Maria goes out 5th (she tries to take credit for getting Tiffany out, she's seen as an immediate threat by Kenzie and taken out), Ben's the F4 firemaking loser, and it's Kenzie-Charlie-Liz. But if that's the case, it can't be unanimous because no way Maria DOESN'T vote for Charlie to win. It's really tough to gauge which way it's gonna go.
  8. I'm so glad that I decided to binge this show, its so much fun!
  9. I used to love Cara back in the day, then not so much once she got with Paulie and started acted very entitled etc... I was thinking I was ready to have her back though and without him. Last night was a little reminder of what I don't like about her, but I think I might still end up rooting for her because I think she will end up in an underdog role this season and be targeted all the time. Also, while the entitlement bothers me, I am hard pressed to think of a frequently successful person on this show who does not behave that way.
  10. Instaget on FJ and reminder of the delightful Arrogant Worms and their song, "History is Made by Stupid People." Pertinent lyrics: The Hindenburg was a giant zepplin Its makers made a minor oversight Before they filled it up with explosive gas They should have fixed the no-smoking light
  11. I am still really enjoying the humor of this series especially when they tell you what usually happens in this situation and then subtly subvert it. Everybody thinks that Shaggy is constantly eating because he is a stoner, but it is from anxiety.
  12. And isn’t Tina teaching part-time? She doesn’t have her days free, does she?
  13. Hunter was dumb not to play his idol obviously, but I think Tiffany was too. As chaotic as it's been and after three blindsides in a row AND knowing that everyone knows she has it? She doesn't know about Kenzie targeting her, but she expressed some concern early on to Q about how hard Kenzie was playing. Not sure why she's not at least a little wary of her now, but honestly if Q and Kenzie teamed back up against her, I wouldn't be surprised. Venus continues to be awful, rubbing the blindside of Tevin in Hunter's face with her, "what now, Mr. Strategy?" Liz continues to be absurd. And both of them claiming responsibility for the Tevin vote. haha, I really kind of want these two and their desperation to take credit for everything in the F3. Yes. Great at challenges, bad at the social game, could not strategize his way out of a paper bag. The real crime, to me, was that last night he became yet another of this season's players to refer to himself in the third person. lol
  14. Who/what is Team BAF? I'm with you - Marilyn for the win. Yes, kt was unfortunate that Leticia's breasts took up all the space her daughter needed.
  15. A glimpse into the writers room of Delicate: Writer#1: “okay okay, it’s like a coven and they wear these bird hats and they need babies and they’re evil because……..well they’re just evil” Writer#2: “yeah yeah, and we need a cheating husband, you know to confuse everyone and he’s bad, no he’s good, oh shit who cares and we’ll throw in a bunch of weird moody set pieces because that shit is just cool” Writer#3: “wait wait, we’re on the final ep and none of this really makes sense, how do we tie it all up” Writer#1: “with a chant and then the baby is real and the witches are banished, yeah that’s it, man we are good” Everyone pats themselves on the back, take their big bags of money and laugh all the way out of the room.
  16. I liked all 3 of last night's contestants, but I'm glad Amy won. FJ was an instaget for me. The Montgolfier brothers = hot air balloons (thanks, Monty Python's Flying Circus for that bit of info), and what sort of lighter than air craft would need such a separate smoking room other than a zeppelin. Voila! The Hindenburg. She did, but since I was pretty nervous during my game, I could relate to her. I'm stealing this. The irony is that the fire wasn't in any way related to the smoking room.
  17. AMEN SISTAH! Charlie's Angels did the same thing, and theirs was set in the backwoods of California!!!
  18. Clearly they don't. Although I was convinced that Matty Matheson was a character on the show, only to find that's really him in RL. And Kristin should fire her stylists. What did they put her in this episode? A shapeless, weird...suit thing....in an unbecoming gray, and then a nude colored sweater that matched her skin tone. I get that she's pretty and young and fresh and not-Padma, but really, they couldn't do better than that?
  19. At this point it looks like both Q & Liz will be dragged along to the Final Three. I really hate the strategy of taking horrible players to the end. As a viewer it makes the show practically unwatchable.
  20. Actually it was cephalopelvic disproportion. She has a really big head. The OB NP thought it would be okay despite my being small, but apparently not. It was a rural area lacking in newer equipment. Like no fetal heart monitor.🫥 I almost always have to have follow-up mammos. If I've moved or am a new patient, it's at least 2 follow-ups, if not more.
  21. None of y'all watch The Bear?
  22. I found it hilarious but also believable that the kidnapper really thought she could take Colter in a fight if she just got the drop on him and that it took him less than two minutes to knock her out. You shoulda bonked with intent to kill, Maeve Price!
  23. That's probably because those siblings don't want to be on the show. ##### Amy said "Matt's and I's relationship". Matt's and I's? How did she ever graduate college? Since this probably final episode was filmed last year, I wonder if Matt and Caryn are now married. She said something about May, so maybe that's next month. I'd like to see the finished house.
  24. I think it’s more about manpower or something else like that (or maybe even language barriers, judging by the phone reps; it’s difficult sometimes). For one thing, my previous providers have online services. And this current provider links to actual health info and claims, you just can’t get customer service/administrative help online. If there are secure online portals that doctors use to communicate with patients about actual private matters (and it’s great; I rarely ever call an office!), surely an insurance provider can allow a customer to contact them online with mundane policy questions, even if it’s just a message that prompts a rep to call on the phone. Security concerns or not, writing a paper letter to an insurance company about a pressing coverage matter is not at all efficient for the customer.
