My mom lives about 10 miles down the coast from it and I had a feeling (I refuse to drive past it in recent years) Since he didn't "own" it when this is supposed to take place - I guess that's how the producers justified letting it in. It is an iconic property, so if you're doing a show in 1960 PB - you have to have it in there.

I feel its time to bail on this show - it wasn't what I expected, I was secretly hoping for more of a "day in the life" of Truman and his swans more like a real housewives series - I don't know enough about the truth to tell what's true or not in this series. The flashbacks (that we don't know are flashbacks) or the dreams/imaginations drive me crazy. Last night - when they cut to him awakening in the same position that he fell asleep in was the throw in the towel moment for me. And the ending....was that necessary?

If there's any old folks on here and remember the original Batman pilot with Adam West and he's trying to defuse a bomb and hes running all over the pier with it in his hand - along the way he encounters a woman with a baby stroller, a flock of nuns and a bunch of other obstacle along the way to the ocean. THAT is what that gondola ride reminds me of....sh*t coming at them in every direction. At one point I burst out laughing and it happened to be when Guerty was throwing up into that nasty blue garbage can. My 23yo daughter "yelled" at me, and I told her I'm NOT laughing at Guerty, I'm laughing at the pure absurdity of this boat ride. A beat up gondola with a 50 year old picnic table nailed on it for starters.
